White did look pretty good at times, but was taken to the cleaners by Pods and Burton in his first couple of games, only their terrible kicking stopped him having a bag kicked on him both times. Hopefully the hip surgery gives him a bit more pace off the mark, which is probably his biggest deficiency. With a good preseason could see him playing 22 games next year. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of him forward also.

Simon White is as sure a defender as i've seen in navy blue.

Devastated to see him get injured. Things might have turned out a bit different with him in. Next year.

Isn't that why he was taken later in the draft though? Because he's a bit injury prone? Or am I thinking of someone else :?

maybe we should target matthew warnock?
194cm 95kg, 26yo key defender.
would be a lot cheaper than tarrant.

Pace Pace Pace and better disposal.
An extra preseason and some good development programmes and we have a good bunch of kids to fight for a top 4 spot in 2011 ...imo

B: Armfield Jamison Bower
HB: Russell Austin Tuohy..............(White)
C: Simpson Gibbs Lucas
HF: Garlett Henderson Waite
F: Walker Kreuzer Betts

Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy

I/C: Hampson Yarran Houlihan Scotland..........(Jacobs)

EMERG: Carrazzo Joseph Ellard Hadley McLean Robinson Davies Setanta (these guys may step up and take Scotland and Houla's spot)

With Kreuzer Henderson and Walker playing forward Waite could easily be released to play CHB if needed.
Any good additions to that side is a bonus.
I just want to fix up the CHB spot and prefer to keep Waite forward.

We must get something of value for TBird and then there's pick 18 to consider too.
I would only consider trading a ruckman if we could cement a definite talented first 22 prospect or the CHB we need (not Tarrant), otherwise, further develop what we have.

O'Keefe hasn't proven anything other than he is a good kick, but he may be the smokey for 2011.
I really expect big things from Hammer.....I wish he could become a great CHB. I expect Aussie to step up in 2011, and I expect Bower and Jamo to have much better seasons than they did in 2010 with Bower pressing for AA consideration.

I expect 2011 to continue to be a development year for Kerr, Casboult and Cachia.

Oh, did I mention we could win he flag in 2011? Well, if not, I think we can....if everything went our way (same applies to 8 other teams)

Same as this year.

I think we're talking th talk re-trades but in reality they are harder than they look, and if the player targeted hasn't come out and said I want to move, yhey probably won't. So I'm only going to put in who's already on our list, if we get something better it's a bonus.

Mundy 2.4mil?????? Give me a break.

Changes from the team that played the Swans.

In's
Lucas.
Touhy (if reports on his ability are accurate)
McLean (not because i want him too but because Ratts and co need to justify throwing away pick 11 on him)
Yarran (see Mclean but pick 6)
White (coz he showed a bit before injury)

Smokey's .
Casboult (you can't be that big, fast and strong and clunk marks like he does without playing sooner or later)
Hammer ( I'd like to see him play with Sammy and Warnock. They keep talking about turning Hammer into a forward option when to me Warnock is the ideal forward option. Warnock see's the ball in the air far better than either Sace or Hammer, Warnock has got very good hands and is a superb long straight kick. As Malcolm Blight say's "champions see it sooner"Warnock has that ability.

Possible Outs.
AJ (although I thought he played better late in the year)
Ellard (love him and think he should always play, but will be a victim ofthe Mclean root up)
Carrazzo (needs to do more, sorry that should be needs to do less, he's ok when he simplifies his game)
Armfield (love him but...................)

Position's

Gibbs will play across half back. Most people want him doing more midfield and so do I but maybe we just have to get used to him zoning off in the backline..
Warnock to play forward whenever possible. For the reasons described.

nab cup,
armfield jamison white
davies austin dare
lucas mclean yarran
gartlett henderson kerr
casboult kreuzer betts

warnock gibbs ellard

hampson, cachia, robinson, bower, o'keffe, pick 18, trade for jacobs/walker/thornton.

trades; jacobs, walker, thornton and grigg?

jacobs and walker to adelaide for pick 14? prob not, so players like andy ottens, daniel talia, taylor walker, shaun mckernan, james sellar and will young would be nice.
thornton to hawks for jordan lisle.
grigg to gc for a pick, only if he wants to go.
o'hailpin to swans for veszpremi.

other players to look at, vfl/delisted/poach/who want to be traded;
josh smith[north], mitch thorpe[box hill], matthew warnock[melbourne], shinners[bendigo], ben mckinley/matt spanger/tony notte[wce], issac smith[ballarat], djerrkura/gillies[cats], jayden post[tigers], andrejs everitt/matt panos[bulldogs].

delist; fisher, browne, johnson, anderson, tiller
retire; wiggins.

Yarran-kreuzer-robinson
Houlihan-henderson-betts
Garlett-murphy-simpson
Gibbs-waite-russell
Bower-jamison-white
Warnock-judd-carrazzo
Scotland-mclean-lucas-grigg

i think jacobs looks like he's gone. walker, wiggins, fisher, browne, anderson and austin will be the others in contention to go i reckon. Guys like Thornton and O'Hailpin provide experience and 'good enough' backup at either end of the ground if Henderson, Kreuzer, Jamison, Bower, Waite etc get injured during the season. Fisher and Wiggins get the boot before Setanta (still cant believe ive seen his name put up as a delisting atfer the first half of the year he had) and Austin has been on the list for a few years now and hasnt been able to take a spot off guys like Thornton yet so i doubt his ability to get a spot ahead of guys like Davies and White next year.

names like Josh Drummond and Jarrad Brennan are guys i dont mind the sound of picking up. Richard Tambling and Chris Tarrant im not as keen on.

Next year i'll be interested as to who we have as debutants. This year we played 3 (white, lucas and davies) I'd like to see how the development of guys like O'Keeffe, Casboult, Dare, Tuhoy etc and also anyone we pick up in a draft where we'll be offered slim pickings. I'd love to see a few games put into these kids early on in the season to get experience under their belts.
