Wasn't he a goal keeper during his soccer days?

I swear I read that somewhere.

If the AFL changes the interchange rules, which it seems certain to do, then playing a ruckman off the bench will almost become impossible. Even the second ruckman might struggle to get a game, unless he is a Leigh Brown type who can play ruck and forward.

So unless Hampson becomes that player, I can't see him getting into the team with both Warnock and Kreuzer.

Big questions. Where to play Kreuzer long term? What to do with Hampson and Jacobs? In fact, the interchange changes may mean Jacobs is the one to be traded. He's a more natural footballer than Hampson, a better ruckman than Hampson, and better around the ground than Hampson. But Hampson has the ability to play forward, which Jacobs doesn't. That may get him the nod.

Relevance? A good goalkeeper has many of the skills required to play In defense in Aussie Rules. Reading of the play, strong hands, peripheral vision, strong communication skills, hitting a target when distributing the ball and most of all courage in the contest.

Ok, well Hammer doesn't make it on to the list of goalkeepers playing AFL coz he was a striker.

Ratten has hinted that Kruezer will spend more time up forward on his return, weather that's due to him coming back from injury or a team need he didn't clarify....

This being the case I would like to see Warnock and Hammer in the ruck, allowing Kruezer to play down forward with Hendo......Cue in The Twin Towers..

I think you said it yourself, more time forward.....not exclusively forward

If the interchange cap comes in next season I think you'll see more of this kind of set up

Kreuzer
Ruck 30%
Forward 40%
Bench 30%

Warnock
Ruck 70%
Bench 30%

It'll make it harder to carry 3 ruckmen though so sides will look at keeping players on the ground more.

From the game against the cats its obvious that our greatest weakness is a strong big mother defender.
Jamison has gone backwards and Bower is more your tall third defender who can play on a variety of talls.

Both these guys get out muscled too easily.

With 4 ruckman on our list who are more than just ok why not atleast try him in defence during the praccie matches and the nab cup next year

He has the size strength and pace. Thats for sure.

Give him some games in defence and see how he develops.

Nobody knows for sure unless he is given a go.

The fewer rotations, the more value becomes a tall marking forward as the smalls get tired.
As Jack Dyer used to say, "the small players get slower as the game goes on but the tall players don't get any shorter" (or words to that effect).
I agree with those above. One rucking, one resting on the bench and one resting in the 10 yard square while Waite and Henderson play the arc.
To boot, the new rising of the torp will make tall marking mobile players important around the midfield. As defences try and punt the footy over the defensive zone, the new turnover will be the opposition ruckman marking the kickout.
