In a more passive way, yes. Let the joke's speak for themselves, I say.

I think Aker makes some valid points, and it's a well thought out article, aside from this para:

Quote:
Some teams think that a program like the one invented by a school teacher (yes, a school teacher) will help professional sportsmen win ultimate glory. Well, let's take a good look at it, shall we?

In my experience schoolteachers are well positioned to devise and implement programs like this, and get people working better, and working smarter and more focused as teams.

But what would he know, he's just a footballer....right?

I wonder why Carlton doesn't employ Chandler McLeod. The directors are massive Blues fans and could assist during the drafting process.

Akers has a massive chip on his shoulder when it comes to this subject. All people are different, and respond to situations differently. Some may think it's a wank whilst others think it's the second coming.

I guess Leading teams creates a focus that is a means to the end of the goal, the premiership. It's about trying to get a group of 60-70 blokes working towards the same goals and ultimately being honest and open with each other. Whether you're the coach or the last pocked Rookie.

Aker's an individual, he doesn't like to conform with anything. His attitude is that if it's not good for him then it's wrong. It's clear something like leading teams would raise his ire because he's never in the wrong even if 99.9% of the people critiquing him are as one.

I guess it would be made even tougher when you're brought into an environment at 31 on the precipice of the end of your career and never having been confronted with situations that arise out of Leading teams.

I know Ray personally and speak with him most weeks. For what its worth Ray played no small part in taking my local footy team from a average, middle of the ladder side to premiers last year. It works well for some teams and maybe not for others. I am pleased he is working with Carlton.

As for Aker........TOOL

Agree ot works well for some and not for others.

Aker fails to acknoledge Leading Ts role. In assisting the Hawks and Swans as well as Geelong.

Speak to Roos and Clarkson about the value and you get another view to Akers. If your impressed by Akers substance, you should be overwhelmed by theirs.

Looks like the process helps with real honesty and the bigger your ego the harder it is to accept that, you may in fact be a massive tool.

Would not have worked with Fev, or Aker. I wonder if Vossy has heard of it? if he hasn't I'm sure he'd benefit from some some honest feedback.

Every time there is ever something positive (in the world), you'll always find someone to shoot it down. Tall poppy syndrome. Go back in yer cave, Aker. Yeah, you got some premiership medals and a Brownlow. So wut? Makes you a (useta be) good footballer. We're not interested in your opinions about anything. All we ever wanted was to see your magic on the field. I wouldn't dream of asking Black Caviar or Kingston Town their opinions on horse-racing. I just want to see them run.

Interesting that he doesn't seem to rate Judd as a leader. A politicians answer if I ever saw one.

Who are you talking about here?

The guy from leading teams. He looked sideways before every answer about Judd and he never really said Judd is a great leader.

Just to make it clear, I think Judd is a great captain.
