Lose this and you would have to say we are in danger of falling out of the 8 and that would be on merit too

Can't see us promoting Casboult from Bullants 2's.

I've been against playing Fisher but I'm now convinced he will provide more (anything) than O'Helpme. A mark, a contest, a couple of goals, anything's a bonus.

Time to reward Ellard's form. Reckon he'll at least get his hands dirty.
Lucas is clearly in our best 22.

Thornton is a waste of time. We are far too negative with him, Carazzo, Joseph and Jamison all totally defensive players. Not for the modern day game thanks.

If we go into this game without an inside mid - Kirk and Bolton will tear us a new one

Didn't see Bullants yesterday but based on previous games players for consideration:

Austin, White, Warnock, Ellard, Grigg, Lucas, Anderson, Browne, Davies, Wiggins.

Yes, good point, and they both know how to tackle and apply pressure. They are relentless in close...and much of this match will be played in packs.

Do we have any players that are in good enough form to play inside mid effectively?

Kade Simpson is our leading tackler and he isn't exactly an inside mid. Mitch Robinson is a terrier... has more tackles than Joseph despite playing less games, doesn't have the tank or physique to tag either Kirk or Bolton, but seeing the stakes on hand I guess anything is worth a shot at this stage (even if only for 15 minute bursts)....we can't go with the same old stale midfield.

Who will go with Goodes?

He will play midfield... we need a wider range of options in the midfield.

I actually thought we did well at the stoppages etc. It was our set up, game plan? and our use of the ball inside 50 that was the big issue.

Watch Kirk duck his head and collect numerous free kicks. The umpires and Carlton will fall for it for sure

Out: Everyone. Maybe Judd as emergency
in: The Bullants

We are into Matthew Knights blind axe swinging territory now.
This is such a crucial game.

As much as i think Wiggos time at Carlton is done with i'd bring him in this week cause of all the boys on our list he would have not stood up for what happened yesterday.

I might sit out the back of my old shack surrounded by my outback scenery, sink back a beer or two and watch the clouds roll
on by !!!!!

Well, its better than having to sit through another insipid performance and start swearing and cursing at my
old Television. It just doesn't deserve it !!!

What did Thornton do wrong yesterday?

I could name at least 10 worse players.

We won more of the ball than the dogs in the first half yet we were down by 6 goals. This has been a common theme lately.

I think the midfield coach and the forward coach need to meet with the head coach and discuss what each other are doing because they clearly don't at the moment.

I copped a bit of ridicule for this saying this a month ago*, but I still haven't seen
Carlton's forward line function well this year when he's been in the team.

* The ridicule wasn't unreasonable though as I can't really explain why this seems to be the case. I'd love it if they'd give him a spell just so we can have another look at the team
without him.

We definitely need an attitude adjustment across the board.

The Bulldogs were brilliant in the way the clogged up our forward line and opened up theirs time and again. Sydney will try and do the same. Stressful times ahead.

Thornton fails to impose himself on the game. He never takes a risk. He never shows leadership. He applies no physical pressure. Hard to do much wrong really. Certainly doesn't do any good though.

Beat his man and didn't commit multiple horrific clangers. If he took risks and turned the ball over like the rest of his team mates you'd still shit can him.
