I saw a Carlton supporter leave the ground at the 22nd minute mark of the
2nd quarter last night!

I wonder if it was Blues21?
Aside from the Kreuzer injury, I wasn't as disappointed last night as I was at the Dawks, Kangas and Essendon* losses this year. Freo are a genuine top 4 chance. We lost by under 10 points in a game where we were we only had 1 ruckman (vs the best ruckman in the AFL) and were a player down (a key player at that) for most of the match. Losing Murph before the opening bounce hurt too.
Let's face it, we've been disappointing since the Saints game. We did enough to beat Port, WCE and the Dees, but we hardly set the world on fire in those games, and we got smacked by Haw & Kang. I was very surprised we were the favourites before last night's game...
Maybe it's an expectations thing. I certainly didn't fall for the hype about us as a potential top 4 side. We're still a fair way off that, IMO. Before the season started, I thought we would finish somewhere between 6th and 10th. We're still on track to finish at the higher end of that range.
The positve for me last night was that Hendo showed signs of becoming the player we want him to be. Another positive was seeing Bower back in the team.
I actually thought our endeavour was OK last night. I wasn't overly troubled by coaching/structure issues either. Sure, there's definitely things to work on in that regard - but I thought the 2 main reasons we lost were not direct coaching issues - (1) our skill errors on the night (shocking); and (2) the Kreuzer injury. There's also a lingering question mark over our mental toughness when things don't go our way early (of which the skill error problem may be a bi-product?).
Anyway, there's 12 days until our next game so it's probably premature to speculate on changes (for one thing, we need to wait for the match review panel's verdict on Judd & Waite)...but after watching the Bullants today, I think we can pencil in Hammer for Kreuzer right now.
AJ, Armfield, Hadley, Tex & T-Bird's spots in the side might come under scrutiny - with Murphy to return and Ellard, Grigg, Robbo, Warnock, Austin, Fish & Wiggo (& Carlos?) in the mix to come in.
