- Setanta will have learnt a lot about how to play in the wet after today

Con

- Mclean didn't play so we can't bag him

Pros
- Very good in the first half of the 1st qtr
- No injuries
- Houla, Waite, Walker, Scotland, Carazzo & Russell all played well.
- Judd lifting us in the last qtr. What a champion he is!

Cons
- Letting Melbourne back in the game in the 3rd qtr
- Anderson not up to it. Some elementary and costly mistakes again today.

He's Irish I don't understand how he can't play in the wet!

Pros
- Simpson. Best player all year.
- Judd's 4th quarter.
- Sam Jacobs. Smart player.
- Houlihan's kicking.
- T Bird's 2 goals.

Cons
- Gibbs on Green. WTF?
- Irish, Garlett very quiet
- Fadeout in 2nd and 3rd quarter
- Shit weather
- Shit umpiring esp 3rd quarter

Pros

Little bloke saw his 1st win by the Blues live
Sat on the 1st level Ponsford under cover - good possie
1st quarter was gold
Last quarter Judd made his own and totally played on our terms
Houla 4 goals

Cons
Ando - counted 2 definite goals he gave up and maybe a 3rd, happy to see someone else take his spot
Waite - reported, only question for me is the view on ability to turn the body in the air to avoid major contact - at the time didn't even think it was worth 50
5 goals against in the 3rd had us worried - but start of the last showed no issues
Man it got cold in the second half

Pros-
7 from 11 beats all expectations
we are winning the games we have to

Cons-
Andersen
Betts cant be fit. Cant kick 40 meters
Garlett stopped tackling
Setanta only Irishman who cant play in the bog
No Judd No Carlton
Melbourne will be better than us in 3 years
Gysberts- we must never again trade picks for players (Judd I know) but there is no clear win from: Warnock, Hadley, Mclean, Cloke, Saddington etc etc etc

Pro: Hadley played a lot better in 'McLeans' position, than McLean himself does... McLean was apparently recruited, "not for his skill or pace, for his in and under work"...
But Hadley can do it... so why do we need McLean? ;-)

Says who?

I guess the coaches who have us seven and four and ahead of the side our former forward plays for need to have their footy nous questioned.

A fit Warnock and Hampson will be better than Jacobs who is in our best 22 ATM.

Ditto for Mclean v Hadley who breaks down more than a Russian car.

Says I, I disagree with you.
McLean obviously has an ongoing injury that is going to cause him to be in and out all year, it is the reason he has not been able to find much form this year and it is the reason the critics (like myself) haven't got much faith in him. As far as I am concerned Hadley played a much tougher, quick paced game, showing much more skill than what McLean has... so with McLean's current form ("injury") why do we need him? If Hadley drops his bundle then we'll cross that bridge when we come to it ;-).
A player that is not fit should not play, so if McLean is not fit and unlikely to be fit for the entire year, simple, don't put him in the side.

Not sure what your point is in regards to the coaches comment.

Pros:

Walker, Houla and Waite.
Robbo and Sauce. Really enjoyed a couple of heavy shephers that Sauce laid. Nice to have players with physical intent.
Judd's last quarter.
Betts getting a couple of late goals. Hopefully, he'll get a bag soon. Would be a real boost to his confidence.
Thought Browne was solid, without doing anything particularly exciting.
Good solid win.
MC use of Thornton today.

Cons:

MC use of Gibbs today.

PROS:
Walker in the past few weeks has been a man possessed. Just love seeing him get the ball, tuck his head down and run like the wind. His disposal was excellent today too.

The revival of Houlihan - congrats to Brett Ratten for seeing Houla for what he is - a damaging forward who rarely misses if given the chance to shoot - not a rebounding HB Flanker.

I love the animal that Robbo brings to the game - he is like the reincarnation of Adrian Hickmott - shows no fear and expects the same from all his teammates.

Not sure why Andersen is a con to be honest. I mean the Rockets didn't make the NBA Finals, but it hardly impacts on our performance against Melbourne.

Judd had 9 touches up to half-time and we were in front by 6 goals

Hopefully we can pinch a flag within 3 years then.

Yep, those 5th round draft picks and preseason draft picks could have saved us from everything.

Good thing he didn't highlight them then.

Of the players he did highlight, Hadley was traded for Pick 52, Saddington Pick 51 and Cloke wasn't even traded for.

All the same, we should leave the supercoach trading to Vossy as he is a master at it.

Trading top picks for duds should have been, by now, a thing of the past....we never learn.

And either was Cloke - PSD.

Carlton shouldn't trade though, unless it is for Judd.

We traded for Warnock - now we have Hammer, Jacobs, Kruse, not sure why we needed 4 ruckmen unless the list management people believed we would lose one or two.

Brock McLean - I am happy to rate this trade after we have a finals appearance. He is the hard bodied in and under player we are screaming out form.

We would have got the same result with a very late pick via the VFL/WAFL/SANFL if we just wanted a hard bodied in and under player.

It's because he posterized grrofunger.
