Pros:
* Sauce continues to impress with his work around the ground, very good at the stoppages as well
* Walks showed how critical he is to this side going forward, straightens this team up, great drive off half back
* Hadleys physical presence was great, hard at it ... smart player with the body to protect our younger mids
* Carrots once again sacrificed his game for the team, big
* Scotland outstanding
* strong bounce back by Garlett ... scary to think what will happen when this kid realises how good he can be
* Robbo brilliant at the contest
* Ando showed something today, like to see him given some more time at this level

Cons:
* T-bird is behind White IMO, under pressure
* Brock might still be injured ... might explain his form, IMO drop him till he's right (injury/form) to play, was poor today
* Robbo's brain explosions, gotta luv him

We Won
Russell - Kicking improved out of site
Gibbs - Needs to push forward, don't want him being Nathan Buckly.
Irish - Goal Kicking
Henderson - Contesting

Cons
Anderson - Holding place for Waite or Bower
Browne - Holding place for Armfield
Robinson - Just needs to concentrate more at times
Jacobs - Getting valuable experience, but needs to step aside for inform Warnock.
Thornton - Holding place for Waite or Bower
Depth is improving - Grigg & Lucas & Houlihan all deserve games.

Or, from another viewpoint...

creating valuable competition for spots in the team

Pros:

I'm with Ratts. I thought Garlett was easily our best and most influential player.
Judd got us off to a good start.
Santy and Henderson kicked for goal well from set shots.
Murphy ran hard and was classy.
Didn't see Sauce take a contested mark this week. But loved his aggression and protection of Judd and others.
Walks was really good, especially early, save for one shocking turnover.
Joey continues to slowly make his way at AFL level. Browne also did some nice things.
Robbo's intensity. Nice to see him get a couple of goals again.
Also thought it was a good move from the MC to play both McLean and Hadley against a slow WC midfield. Priddis hardly got a sniff. And Judd had a chance to run around in space today.

Cons:

Eddie looks like he really has the yips at the moment with his goalkicking.
Really struggled to take a contested mark in our forward line. I wish Hendo wouldn't always sag off to the back, and try and win the behind his opponent. Would like to see him really attack the ball in the air. Would also like to see a bit more aerial contest from Mitch as well.
Seemed to lose interest after our initial goal flurries at the beginning of each quarter.

PROs

I thought Robbo was fantastic - yes he sprays a few but he is the new junkyard dog - the more physical he gest the better he likes it.
I thought Browne was also very good - I thought he did enough to keep his spot.
Walks - a sight to behold when he tucks it under his arm and runs
Jeffy - I just love this little fella - about 65 kilos in todal and 45 of that is his heart.
Gibbs - the beast was well an truly unleashed today
Kreuzer - got outjumped by NicNat but was the better player around the ground I thought

CONS

Just the junktime goals we give away - but then again 2 years ago we were in West Coast's position whereby we'd only get within 5 goals of the better teams when they took the foot off the pedal in junk time.

All the boys flashing Mars Bars at the cameras while singing the song - surely we can keep some things sacred?

Pros :

Hadley , and he'll only get better .
Sauce , we've got a good one here .
Garlett , Robbo , mini A-bombs in the making .

Cons :

Didn't bury them when we had several chances .
Eddies set shots . ( unlike Setanta , he should play on at all costs ) .

Pros
Last week after 5 mins I knew we wouldn't win. This week after 5 mins I knew we wouldn't lose
Hendo's first quarter - thought he was great and won a lot of contested ball. His play on the HFF where he won the ball from an unlikely position, side stepped an Eagles player and delivered perfectly to Setanta showed real class. Did some good body work in the marking contests but agree with the poster that said he shouldn't try to mark from behind so much.
Garlett - showed that you can have a massive influence with less than 15 possies. Great game.
JR - I feel good when he has the ball these days. Always looking to create and take the game on.
Robbo - Just loves the contest. Great to have buzizng around the forward line.

Cons
Crowd - thought 29k was a bit disappointing
Thornton - still think his best role, if he's in the side, is third man up. Really struggles on an opponent these days. His kicking is getting worse as well.
Obviously the drop off in intensity from half way through the third was really disappointing. Up until then I was quite satisfied with the performance.
Missing the chance to make up some % as we are quite a way behind the sides above us.
Robbo - still way off in terms of composure and decision making. Don't want to see him anywhere near the backline either. His kick backwards that gave up a goal was a shocker.

Whinging about a 5 goal win

Con:

Okay, it should have been 10 goals

Considering the continual rubbishing of McLean could someone tell me why isn't Grigg who is younger, taller, and quicker getting a game? Is it GC17?

Not ideal but better than having a player pretend he is asleep during the song.

Pros-
We played 4 qtrs minus junk time goals at the end of all four
We were hard at the contest.
We play better with Mclean/Hadley in the side
Setanta incredible first half. He never loses his feet and holds down the hardest posi on the ground
Hendo
Robbo
Bower, Waite, armfield and Lucas in our best 22

Cons

Ratten over rates Carrazzo and Garletts Performance
Eddie looks like his carrying something. Is he pulling up short on his kick? Struggled to kick 40
Mclean is a welcome addition to the side but not worth pick 11

A very similar game to the Fri night last year when we won comfortably in a lacklustre performance.
Take the 4 points but will need to lift next week to win.

PROS

1. Murphy – was freed of the number 1 tag for the first time in a while and did some elite things. His work in traffic is really becoming A-grade.

2. Gibba – was sensational, still had the 16 contested touches. Wasn’t manned up and I would like to see him play in the middle.

3. Jammo – the general down back gets a mention for consistency. Always closes when you think he can’t.

4. Joseph – wins a lot of one on one contests and has been good after a shabby first few rounds.

5. Walks – slotted right in.....quality player

CONS

1. Brock McLean – if there was a stat for percentage of times you get tackled with the ball, he’d be leading. Pick 11???? I haven’t seen a skerrick of evidence he’s worth it.

2. Thornton is just holding his place in the team due to injuries.

3. Anderson – loses touch with his opponents too easily. Isn’t really up to it.

4. Maybe another injury to scotto – that would cost us.

5. Could’ve piled on the percentage but didn’t have the will or skill. We’re just going along at the moment and will need to lift against a plucky Melbourne outfit who we should beat if we’re ‘on’.

6-4 is better than we expected. Big game next week, expected to win but it won’t be easy. Need to increase the intensity after 3 relatively shabby performances.

Agreed with basically everything - was reminded of the 2009 game against them too. Were in control but didn't end up showing on the scoreboard.

Pros
- Gibbs (der), Murph (der), Judd (much better disposal this week from Judd)
- Walker, great return and made a difference
- Robinson, loves a tussle, just needs to think a bit more but that will come with experience
- Garlett, amazing tackle and good work from such a small guy

Cons
- Fade out from end of third quarter. Were we just saving energy?
- Scoreboard, obv should have won by a lot more, Eddie's poor kicking in particular is worrying
- McLean...going to give him benefit of the doubt as he's not played much this year...
- Thornton, has annoyed me most of the year with poor disposal

PROS
- Robinson... in my opinion he should ALWAYS be in our 22... his efforts at the man and the ball are inspirational
- Jacobs... im loving this blokes work... worked hard against 2 quality ruckmen.... i applaud Ratts for persisting with him, much better than Warnock
- Russell... this bloke is fast becoming one of the best defenders in the afl, i never thought id ever say that
- We won

CONS
- Walker, im really not sure how people rate him in the best in the MVP thread.... his disposal is disgraceful
- Our goal kicking, if we were playing a good team we would have got beaten
- Should have buried them... percentage is crucial

Forgot a couple

PROS
- Gartlett... creates chances from nothing... what a pick up!

CONS
- Henderson... cant take a mark to save himself... must be dropped
- Mclean if he is injured drop him. We are deep enough to replace him.... i dont think he is injured, i just dont think he is quick enough or damaging with the ball. So what does he offer??

Geez Hollywood...how can anyone take your comment about Walker's disposal when you describe it as 'digraceful'?
A slight exaggeration don't you think?

Obviously most other posters saw things differently to you. I'm just another one of them.

Jammo is a machine
Gibbs to captain post-Judd
Murphy doing grunt work
Walker <3 so glad he's back
Easy win with not much effot
Beauty of Heinsight - Should have traded Fev for Kennedy :P

Con:
Boring game to watch
Should have smoked em
Brock - not sure bout him

I dont get why no one is mentioning Simon White in our list of players to return
He is a good player destined to be a pro in my opinion
he'll do #43 proud
Plus Lucas, Waite, Yarran, Bower, Armfeild, Grigg, Houlihan (and hopefully the Hammer),
