FMD, not even a free kick. I know its umpire appreciation round but they're still blind maggots.

They weren't trying.

For some proposing changes: Walker & Fisher are definitely out, Grigg & Hadley are highly unlikely. Bower & McLean aren't listed anywhere, but the talk suggests both are highly unlikely for this week. No rookies are eligible for promotion.

Hampson, Austin & O'Keeffe have all just returned from injury, meanwhile Warnock got a rest from the VFL of all places. Tiller, Kerr & Davies are probably not quite up to scratch at this stage.

That - in all likelihood - leaves us with Browne, Anderson, Robinson, Henderson & Wiggins available for selection.

I've gotta say - I really hope White and Houla are ok. We are stretched for depth at the moment given our injuries, 2 certain outs (Waite and Lucas) are bad enough, 4 would be awful.

Thornton to Roughead.

No way.
Last year Roughhead kicked 5 in the first half with T Bird playing on him.

CFC website report on Ratts' press conference mentions only Lucas and Hoops with leg strains, Lucas the only one likely to miss

On the bright side it will give us a chance to build some real depth. Something that will be real important later this season and the seasons that follow.

Danger game for us. We will not be playing the Hawks of the last few weeks. They will turn up and give it all they have. Buddy and Roughead are the concern for mine. Both are a little due to explode.

Always be wary of the side coming from the unimpressive win that everyone thinks is still rubbish, despite winning.

Definite danger game, their top 5-6 means they have to be taken seriously.

In no way what-so-ever is this game gonna be as easy as it may appear.

The Hawks are down on form, but with Hodge bringing it up the ground to the likes of Franklin and Roughead, you just can't ignore that.

I hate this team more than any other at the moment and would LOVE to smash em. Can't wait to see Setanta!

Is any game (apart from our annual Round 1 vs Richmond gimmee) ever easy?

We should win, but we'll have to fight for it. Particularly given the likelihood of Waite missing, and possibly Houla and White too.

Luckily for us, the papers won't be full of 3 Amigos/Mosquito Fleet/Carlton stories this week, it'll be all about St Kilda and the Colllingwood vs Geelong game. We'll just get on with the business.

"Teague said he expected eight players to return to the side for that clash, including Carlton-listed Brock McLean, Andrew Walker, Paul Bower, Brad Fisher, Shaun Grigg, Richard Hadley, Robert Warnock and Stephen Browne."

There is no VFL this week. Teague is talking about the weekend of the 29th.
Good news re Walker, Bower and McLean.
This week i'd guess;
Robinson for Lucas
Henderson for Waite
Wiggins for Houla

I'm hearing Hoops will be fine, albeit a limited week on the track. Henderson for Waite is a given. I wouldn't be bringing Robinson into the side unless we're desperate. Browne for Lucas.

Agree 100%. Like for like atm. Browne is the closest example to Lucas, or an in-form Grigg.
Robinson still has a learnt of learning to do. Football and life.

I hope Hoops is fit. He is so important to our structure. He lead Cornes away from Setanta and Kreuzer to stop the 3rd man marks that Chad is good at. If they don't follow him, Hoops can hurt them on the scoreboard

I think we may be looking for a short term replacement for Eddie. His hit on Cassisi was really dumb.

Out:
Eddie
Waite
Lucas

In:
Henderson
Robinson
and for the third spot this is where our depth is getting shown up, would love for Grigg to have played a solid game in the magoos. Looks like Wiggo or Browne will be given a chance.

I have to smile a lot lately when I look at the love JR, Hoops and others are receiving. Fact is that supporters have no patience and do not understand how structure and team balance influence how "good" many players look. I am sure we are only a loss away from supporters calling for the heads of Ratts, Hoops, Carlos, Armfield etc. Life of a supporter is so nice and simple.

I don't think so.

Hoops, Setanta, Ratts, JR............. all of them have come under the microscope of fans and have been criticised accordingly. Some, harsher than warranted, but others right-on-the-money!

However, they have certainly got their games together and found the right ingredients so good on em.

If we, like Richmond, can restrict the Hawks to 38 inside 50’s, we should win comfortably.
