Hey Duc I just got the same message... and I replied including the coach in this formula....feel free at anytime this week to ban me if things get out of hand...

That's the plan if the Sakc Ratts thread gets a facelift.

Pressure, pressure, pressure.

They applied top 4 standard pressure and tackling for 100% of the game. We could match it at times, but not for the duration.

That's why we're a mid-comp team and those filthy inbreds are top 4 material. We need to get to that level of discipline.

We dont have mental toughness.

Real ticker.

As much as I hate to say it, Malthouse instills this in his team. No matter where they play they give a real go.

We are not at that stage yet, our midfield is our strength and they ran all over us in the last quarter - that is poor

Collingwood have a good group of players that play like a team. This what a good coach does.. in terms of age they aren't much older than the team we fielded today.. Malthouse is just an A grade coach.

Just got back from the game.

At least something to cheer about in the 3rd, but we dominated and they still kicked the same number of goals.....

Few observations. We were smashed in the midfield, and around the stoppages for 3 of 4 quarters - Pies always had a man offensive side and a quick handball meant they were away.

Hendo - time for the magoos, just too easily beaten and run off.

Few moves from Ratten I liked such as Gibbs into the centre and White forward, but Pies were just too good.

Didn't seem like a 9 goal thrashing - but that was what it was

Not convinced AJ shoud be in the side at the moment. Also Brock turned over too many

On the plus side Stetant was very good

Saints next week, should be interesting, need to run run run

Leon Davis was about their worst player today. Every time I looked AJ was his opponent.

Just home from the game. Very disappointed. End result didnt reflect the actual game. A lot of junk time front-runner goals kicked late by Collingwood. Still, soundly beaten.

We were in it with 5 minutes to go in the third. I thought if we could just hit the front we might be able to run on with it. Alas, those late goals by Collingwood in the third killed us and won them the game. Game was over at 3/4 time. You expend so much energy catching up that if you dont hit the front when you have the chance it flattens you.

Collingwoood dont have many stars but they are extremely well drilled with great defensive pressure, and they hurt you on the turn-overs. They also didnt miss many shots on goal. Their younger good ordinary players like Beames and Sidebottom and Toovey have really come on. Their backline is very impressive.

We played reasonably well for much of the game. Our ball movement looked quite good. Unfortunately we are a few players short of a good team.

Well done again to Juddy, O'Hailpin, Murphy, Gibbs, Simpson, Russell, Armfield, Jamison, Bower.

Expected more of Jacobs today, but Warnock hasnt done any more.

Henderson has been a protected species on this site but we was absolutely hopeless today offensively and defensively and needs a long stint in the Bullants, Just not up to AFL standard at this stage. Let him earn his spot back and not give it to him because we have no-one else.

Anyway, lets put it behind us. Onwards and upwards. Go Blues.

Watched the game on tellie today
First we are about 4 to 5 players off being a good side
We need a big mother up forward and down back
Henderson may be ok but he lacks pace and his decision making is slow
He definitely should be sent to the Bullants for Waite next week

We also need another big forward
Where I dont know but we are crying out for one

Our midfield once again were exposed for intensity in close when it mattered and for lack of defensive run.
Judd is a freak but he was asked to do too much today which shits me
Judd Murphy and Simmo were good Judd Brilliant but McLean and Carrazzo were poor
McLean needs to find touch in the twos. Robinson would be his replacement
McLean is so slow that he really is a liability in todays game
Carrazzo was really disappointing Just didnt get his hands dirty.

The club will have to make the call on McLean and Carrots in the one team
Not enough leg speed

COLLINGWOOD WERE SERIOUSLY GOOD

Hate to say it but they are serious contenders

I still reckon we have too many soft players
Gibbs
Yarran
Scotland
Houlihan
Carrazzo
Gartlett
just dont play with the serious intensity that is needed when the game is hot

Some of those guys havent been in the system long and can be excused but Carrazzo, Houlihan,Scotland and Gibbs IMO were once again found wanting when the pressure was really on.

i would give Jacobs another week and see how he goes.

We really missed Walker today
Would have been a good matchup on Dawes and we really missed his run

Well done to Carlos
Yep he is unco does some silly things but he is a hard match up and has a crack
he also knows where to run better now.

We need to improve defensively. Not to do with us being soft, I still think a few guys need a few more games under their belts before we become a consistent week in, week out team.

We came to play, but so did the Pies, and they are better at this stage.

pound for pound they are a lot better team than us.

i wonder if we rolled out Barassi this week because it seemed like we handballed at all costs (to players in worse positions, standing still, etc) and i reckon they would have kicked 5-8 goals directly from turnovers like this.

the only time we looked competitive was when we kicked it to position and used the corridor - ie the first 20 mins of the third qtr....

overall it seemed like a 5 goal loss and it shows how well they are playing at the moment by winning by 10.

hope they see themselves as May premiers!!!!

and it will be an eye opener for the smaller forwards to come up against a well drilled hard group of defenders and midfield - which caused our delivery into the forward line to be haphazard - i'd hate to be playing at CHF in this side today

I thought White was ok ... but Henderson was dreadful. Waite and Thornton have to come back into our defence. We really missed Andrew Walker today ... defence leaked so badly. I would consider giving Joseph a rest. Big tick for Setanta and Judd. I thought Yarran, Armfield and Simpson were ok. GRRR .. I am going out for lunch with a Collingwood work mate. Not happy. We MUST beat the Saints next week.

Game was obviously won in the first half as there were too many blues putting in too many half hearted efforts in the clinches in what was basically a contested one on one game of footy.
This gave the pies the mental supremacy and when they are in control and confident they are very hard to beat.
Inconsistency from week to week in our mental approach wont win us enough games and wont win us the respect a good team deserves.

Juddy was awesome again with 37 possies and something like 17 contested.
Setanta was fantastic also with 5 goals in a lionhearted performance.

Overall a bitterly disappointing performance following a great performance last week.
