Yarran for sure.

Would also love to see setanta and Austin step up as I think they will be key to our season.
Hendo will be given a much bigger role than at brissy - hope he is the man!

Just for fun and lets reflect on our posts in 10 months.

I have a gut feeling that Dennis Armfield will be a big improver from his 2009 season.

was watching some replays and saw him improving more and more each game.

He looks like he is training hard and should be hungry for a permanent spot on the team.

Dont know about them Dreads thou. :screwy:

POW.. about time we started to remember just how bloody exciting the young talent at this club is... It is such a hard call to name just one. Yarran is the one I think most of us hope and expect big things from in the very near future. perhaps hope a little more than expect... I hope he tears it apart.

We should expect improvement from most of our youngsters.
Like BB23 I'm going with Mark Austin (hofeully). He is awkward, lacks confidence, and is not up to it yet, but he is big and athletic and could do in 2010 what Jordan Russell did in 2009. Is he also Bryce Gibb's best mate from Adelaide? If that it true I really want him to succeed to keep Bryce happy

Possible trade bait for QLD

thoughts?

definitely a keeper, not trade bait. his athleticism and size are gradually being met with improved ball-handling skills. hampson is our next "kouta-esque" type player IMO.

..Errol.... ..another pre-season and i can see him doin' more of his stuff a'la the win vs dee's last year.... ..Yazza didn't really get much chance to show anything, so can't really improve on such a little amount, ditto Austin.... ..Grigga if he can gain a little composure and work on his kicking....

I'm tipping it will be out of Aussie, Yarran and Carlos.

I would like to say Yarran but coming last in the time trial around Princes Park is disappointing. Did the likes of Casboult and Jacobs finish ahead of him? No doubting his talent but it sounds like his aerobic capacity still has a long way to go.

Grigg had a disappointing 2009 but I think he'll bounce back in 2010.

Kreuze will cause plenty of headaches for the opposition.

Believe it or not I think Kruezer will be the big Improver. Pre-season photos show that he now looks like he has grown into his body and for the first time looks like a mature man.

Dean Cox look out!!!!

Judd.

Will raise the bar. McLean will clear the decks along with assistance from Hadley, and free the man up. He will BURN.

Austin also to take it up a notch.

Caleb Tiller. If he can sneak a few games in next year, that will be a big improvement. Drafted as an underage prospect, i think he could show a bit this year.

As for the players who will be in the side more consistently, i think Jamo could step up from being a good shut down defender and become one of the top fullbacks in the comp.

Russell. Had a good year last year and is ready to step up another notch.
His time is NOW (or never)

Will relish another big body in the guts in McLean to help out.

Will be our leading goalkicking mid AGAIN in 2010!

Considering the girls I have seen on his arm on Lygon St, there is very little room for improvement AFAIC! :smoking:

I agree though, I think Dennis is ready to step up a notch or two. He is such a positive player on the field.
If Hammer can do a Carlos and pin down the one grab mark, then LOOK OUT in 2010!

Brock McLean.

I reckon his 2010 season will be a huge improvement from 08/09. He's much fitter than he was at this time last year, and he's playing in a team that needs to win games (as opposed to a team that needs to lose them).

From the '09 Carlton list I'd say Hampson, although we have so many talented players in the 19-22yo range that it's impossible to single out just one for improvement.

Does 206 count? 'Cos if he actually manages to get on the park, let along walk without the aid of a moonboot or crutches, then you'd have to say he's a huge improver.
