There are 14 year olds with a cleaner, more composed run in for shot at goal.
He is [edit]. Full stop.

If you think Fisher is stuttery, then how about Ben Reid of Collingwood?

And yet he's achieved 100 times what you have on a football field. Lifes pretty funny hey?

Supporters keep forgetting that Fisher never was proficient in front of goals except for the one year (2-3 years ago) where he kicked 39 goals from memory from a total of 52 shots on goal.Exceptional conversion rate.

What made him a fan favourite was his marking. Hard to negate because he read the flight so well and could glide from the side of packs. It made up for his lack of defensive nature and average disposal.

Since he broke his thumb, he has lost confidence and his main weapon, his marking ability is no longer there. Until he finds it I can't see him getting a senior birth, because when the ball hits the ground he becomes a liability.

I like Brad but did you see his miss from the goalsquare with basically no pressure on him? i think this was in the same game in the 3rd quarter.

even the great ANTON GRBAC couldn't teach him to kick..
Brad picked up the useless kicking style when he was a young kid,so it's stuck with him forever. :banghead:

the old saying ,you can't teach an old dog new tricks....
an embarresment for the carlton footy club, playing at the elite level and can't kick the ball..
(refer to the V.F.L grand final this year,he kicked the ground before the the ball)...

Very one-dimensional and goes to ground too easily. Still has a role to play with Fev and now Cloke gone IMO.

Absolutely BBB. Couldn't agree more. Fish was around in the dim dark days and stayed loyal to the Blues. Lets hope he gets the opportunity to enjoy the good times.
He has shown the ability to be a valuable contributor previously. Hopefully that form returns in 2010.

Have you read David Parkin's book "Perform - or else!"

It's a tough gig AFL footy. If you're not up to it - see you later. Fisher's had long enough. His 2009 performance was just awful. And his 2008 not much better. One could argure that had he stepped up in 2009 & kicked 30+ goals as a secondary forward target, we would've been top 4 & possibly played off in a preliminary final. If he couldn't do it with Fev around as the key forward, what makes you think he'll do it in 2010 with no Fev to take most of the heat?

Nothing makes me think he will have a breakout season in 2010, i'd just rather be positive about it

Second in goals contributed in 2008 and 2007. The most marks in 08 and second in 07. 47 shots at goal in 08 and 54 in 07.
Yet you say his 2008 wasn't much better than awful. :?

I'm more than willing to give him the opportunity to get over a poor year and it appears the MC is as well. I haven't read Parkos book but I've spoken to him on several occasions and attended a few seminars he's spoken at. He's a deep thinker about the game so I'd hope he'd disagree with your questionable assessment of Fishers 08 season.

Those 2008 stats read well - pity the footy department didn't think his efforts were worthy of a top 10 finish in the B&F. :screwy:

Good numbers and a member of the leadership group, I'd suggest he had a good year.
No ones saying he's a world beater but to suggest his 2008 was awful shows a lack of insight IMO.

I didn't see enough of him this year and I'm not taking sides but - you can't kick goals without the ball and if everyone's always kicking it to the one target it does make it hard...
