Swann didn't say it was a five figure sum.

Herald Sun "believe" it is a five figure sum, just like The Age "understand" it is a six figure sum.

Like Swann said "it's a very small portion of his wage" whilst Sticks said "it is a substantial amount of money".

Only because The H-Sun actually interviewed Swann, I'd take that as more accurate. He may have said some stuff off the record. Caro's article as per usual is all rumour and innuendo.
