Sounds like we may get a horror draw, playing the top 4 sides twice and the bottom sides only once again, (except for Richmond). The lack of home games at the start of the season will hurt even more with the absence of Fev (will no doubt effect our membership) and no Judd for 3 matches could be a horror start to the season.

I like the draw.....bring on the top 4 teams :fight:

Are we going to get better playing Melb,Rich and Freo x 2 .

Do you prefer watching us play against class or crap ?

Big games are good experience for the kids and will fast track them by playing in pressure games.

Carlton v Cats, Dogs and Saints were my favourite games from last year...beating a tanking Melb wasn't as good as the loss to the Aints, for me or the players.

How do you account for the fact that he took 2 defenders every week?

Goal assists?

Inaccurate kicking? Was that a factor? Didn't he have 10 shots on goal v Geelong? 5 shots v St Kilda and a few goal assists?

You're deluding yourself if you don't think he's a massive loss.

I'm not shedding any tears over a Brisbane player......I'm looking forward to seeing a new revitalised Carlton next year.

Well said Warby....lets move forward; the Fev chapter is closed.

I'm moving forward, its just that i think initially we'll be going backward.

What is the talk of the draw and playing the Top 4 sides twice? I thought the mail about the fixture had us playing Collingwood, Essendon*, Richmond, Brisbane, Geelong, West Coast and Freo twice?

Sometimes he took 3-4. We never gained any material advantage from it though because we kicked it to him 85% of the time anyway.

And THAT, my dear posters is why we can do better next year. I have just watched the Bris final for the first time and it was awsoe to watch the Lions mids choose which of two to kick it to as they streamed through te centre. We had to man up Brown and Bradshaw one on one and it couldn't be done. If we have a multi pronged setup next year it should be easier for us and harder for defences to pick the plan. As Malcolm Blight said during thr call,
"Vossy is no fool. He's spent the entire week working out how to negate Fev and Carlton are playing into his hands by still kicking it to him." Or words to tha effect.
We'll sorely miss him but we proved several times we can kick goals without him. What we will NOT be able to do is kick so many from well outside 50. That was his forte.
Over to you, Ratts.
