Will I have to sign up as a new member or something? The link in the email and through the CFC site only lets you pay your previous membership category?

Call?

Yes. Call.

Yeh but while adding numbers to memberships with the 3 game option, we are reducing the dollars the club gets. Very misleading...... Hope people still buy full memberships to contribute financially to the club.

Or conversely it may encourage those who aren't able to justify getting a full membership to join. I wouldn't have thought too many people would downgrad to a 3 game from a full membership so I can't see the initiative as a negative.

Just like moi. $80 or $8 p/m is very affordable and I can only see this membership as being a popular option amongst students, pensioners and other people on a budget. Also, it's only practical for those that don't attend many games, so I doubt that people looking to attend a decent number of matches are going to choose this option.

I for one am thrilled the club is offereing a 3 game membership. We were Silver 11 Family members in 07 & 08, however, this year we had our third baby and knew we wouldn't go to any matches so I last December I cancelled our membership. It will still be difficult at times next year to get to matches but the 3 game option allows me to be a member, see a few games and not have the hassle of buying public tickets etc if I do feel like convincing hubby to come and rounding up the 3 kids. :thanks:
Now I just have to figure out if I'm a renewing member or a new member?

Unless the rules have changed you have to have a membership of 5 games or more to be counted in the AFL membership figures. I heard an official from the AFL on radio during the year who confirmed this. Carlton may count 3 game members in their figures but do you remember last year when the club announced its 40,000 member then only to have the AFL release official figures of 39,000 plus for Carlton?

I have no idea if the rules have changed or not - don't have time to pay attention to boring crap like that
budzy just posted what was written on the CFC site, and I figure that they wouldn't put that up there if it would disadvantage the club in any way.
Either way, if there wasn't the 3 game option, I wouldn't be buying a membership - so even if the AFL doesn't count it, I'm still helping the club the most I can

I think I'm going AFL Member this year. Have never used my reserved seat so no point paying out my arse for it.

Unfortunately, it might be the way to go.
After having to use scalpers for the 3rd time for the 99 grand final after yet again missing out via the club member allocation and having mates attending the GF every year regardless of the team as AFL full members and making a big day of it every year I joined as an AFL member in 2000. Have been a full member for 2 years now (waiting list is now 15+ years) and for games at the G it is a breeze to go. Etihad is a pain in the arse though. Still worth it IMO

Nominate as a Carlton club support and the club still receives the equivalent as a silver member. When the next GF comes around (very soon I hope!) I wont need to stress out about getting a ticket

How about we leave people to manage their own financial affairs without using the heavy hand ...ok!?

Take a breather budzy - I was only jesting with Rafa and having a play on the word, arse.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Heavy handed.

Hey guys, i noticed there is a 17 game premium gold membership which gets you home and away seats. I had home seats last year but didnt realise there was an option for away seats either.

How does this work? Not much info on the site about it really.

I have this package and the away component entitles you to entry and and a reserved seat. The seats I have for away games are quite resonable. MCG is on the top level but at the front and on the wing in the Northern stand, at Telstra Dome they are on level 3, at the front and on the wing as well. I go to every away game so it saves me from going to ticketmaster and buying tickets plus I assume the club gets the money for the away games component.
