when he had a shit team he was chased out of collingwood.
He has a shit team now.. because theyre tired and not hungry.. and he is struggling.

so at the end of the day the coach can only direct a team that has talent..and wants to be directed.

Brisbane had a great list but a shit coach. So they needed a great coach who can do well with a great list (but who struggles with a shit list) so they got Matthews.

By that theory, shit lists can have a great coach, or a shit coach, or anything in between, and it makes no difference, they'll still be shit.
