Get real!

I know we're all hurting right now but denying the players their right to let off some steam after all their hard work since preseason in NOVEBMER 2008 is just silly.

They've earned it alright!

I never said they haven't earned a break, they haven't earned the right to jump straight into a piss up. And, what's more, given the way some players have acted through the season, even less right to get straight on the grog.

I'd rather the players in my club act far more mature about the way they approach the end of the season.

Aren't we supposed to be teaching young 'uns and young adults that binge drinking isn't admirable? Or is the message "Don't binge drink, but i you're a footy player at the end of a season, go for it!"

By all means have fun and act a bit stupid, but there's stupid, and there's stoopid.

Oh Christ, I'm worried about MY corneas being burned seein' that lovely sight!! Why do men love putting on a floral frock at any opportunity? I've always wondered

Just saw the boys in Fitzroy... they were just coming from some bar, and hopping on a booze bus.

The theme seemed to be really tight short denim shorts, and really tight denim shirts that were too small, some tied up in a knot... or something like that

Houlihan had a Bombers jersey on #@$%!*#!

I saw Murphy, Thornton, and I think Kreuz chilling out on the bus while they waited...

Meanwhile a young lad (I think Rhys O'Keefe?) decided to just walk out into the oncoming traffic on the Eastern Freeway, trying to dodge between lanes.
FLOWERING MORON.
And someone - I'm pretty sure it was Bower and maybe JR - were cheering him on like total drunk flowerheads.

I'm all for letting their hair down, but I seriously couldn't stand there and watch them stagger around and nearly get run over like flowering morons, after the gut-wrenching loss on Saturday.
I guess it helps to forget and move on

Didn't notice any players who would obviously be in line for an Ants callup, so that was good

Mate of mine runs a pub in Parkville and has been warned the boys will be ending up there. Its Naughtons on Royal parade across from melbourne uni, might even be there already if anyone wants to head down.

I was there last year by coincidence when they rocked up. Was actually a bit of fun as they are somewhat recovering by the night (plus fev bought me and my mates drinks)

Just got a phone call from a Carlton-supporting mate who went down to Naughtons after being informed the Carlton boys would be there.

He said most of the players left early, namingly Judd who was hearing a hat and a 'conservative' Murphy as he put it.

Anyway, my friend went into the toilets with a drink in his hand and a drunk Fev was there with some guy from the public. No Carlton players were with him. He had that infamous rubber toy with him and was smoking.

Fev approached him and said, 'what are you doing here you 12-year-old'?

He then ordered, 'skull it you c*&*' and Fev grabbed the glass and forced it down for him. My friend skulled the drink and there was more which followed.

My friend told me there are still a handful of players there, including Grigg, Hadley, Armfield, Robinson, Kreuzer, Gibbs and Scotland.

He said Stevens is the worst bloke he has ever met, is completely up himself and was smashing beers all night. On the other hand, he said Armfield is the best bloke he has ever met.

Scotland is out with his mates...does he have an obligation to befriend a member of the public who tracked him down/stalked him via a web forum? :screwy:

Must have. I seriously question the attitude and maturity of some of our players. We need more guys like Murphy and Judd who set great examples for the young guys.
