I would rather answer this in a 4 weeks time but if I had to answer now: 6 out of 10 because the bottom line is we made the finals. Let's leave the full analysis to after the finals.

I'd rate our H&A season a 7/10.

Finished where I predicted but 1 more win than I thought we would get.

We could've won a few more games, but also could've lost a few more games.

Plenty of improvement in the list this year.

Plenty of improvement in individuals.

Those i had names through prior to the season hardly featured.

If we win two finals I'd say it's an 8 or 9 pending the margin in our prelim loss.

I'd give us a 6.

The way the season panned out, losing games we should have won have cost us a double chance. Some areas have improved, others haven't.

Making the finals in this year is no great shakes. 6 teams had given up at the halfway point.

5/10 for me.

A closer analysis reveals that we:

1. learned little along the journey especially against teams like Essendon* and the Crows who spanked us each time in identical fashion
2. still little idea on how to go forward via someone other than Fev
3. kick in strategy has not improved and ranks as the poorest in the league next to Dees and Freo
4. still play too many midfielders who like to travel only the one way

I feel that it's not so much our improvement but rather how other clubs such as the Swans and North collapsed unexpectantly that allowed us to climb a few spots.

at the start of the year if you said we would be looking at a top 4 spot 2 weeks out from finals, we would of been jumping at that in a sec.

now we are here in finals, now everyone is being picking.

The guys scoring 5/10, 6/10, 7/10?? You guys should stop thinking Carlton are better then what they are, with their list, it is amazing 2 weeks out that we are nearly finished top 4. We lost our Full back and CHB, shouldn't be close to top 4.

Give gratitued when its due.

Any score 5/10 and over is gratitude...

I'd give it about a 6 out of 10...

POSITIVES:
- We put in magneficent hard tackling, chasing, constant pressure type games against the Saints, Cats and Richmond (Rnd 1),
- The emergance of AJ
- The improvement of most of our list as a whole
- Winning 3 more games then last year
- Beating some of our bogey sides (eg. Sydney)
- Making the finals
- Record membership
- 2nd best attended club in 2009

NEGATIVES
- We barely delivered on the big stage, losing by massive margains against Essendon*, Collingwood and Adelaide (twice).
- We still can't handle Adelaide's zone or Essendon*'s pace.
- Ratten's coaching at times (no Plan B, taking too long to make obvious changes)
- No protection for Judd by our mids
- Losing to Fremantle
- The gap between our best and our worst is still too wide appart
- We still rely of Big Fev too much up forward (but thats slightly improving)
- Still no answer to our CHF problem
- Our defence can't handle tall timber forward lines.
- Yarran didn't come along as nicely as we'd hoped
- Grigg is languishing in the Bullants
- No kick in plan
- Lack of defensive pressure by our mids
- Warnock being injured all year
- Waite and Jamo missing with long term injuries

most accomplished cricket umpire in the world Paul Rifle. Heard he's good mates with Darren Berry, and Ian Bell although he doesn't like chuckers, especially chocolate ones, Dingbats or Cameron LING.
