I was on the Gold coast earlier this year (Freo game) and it was schooners. I was of the understanding that it's the closest thing to a pint up there?

Too much southern influence down the Goldie. The standard drinks throughout Queensland have always been a beer = 7 oz and a Pot = 10 oz. Don't ask me how many kilowats/kilometers/kilograms etc. that is. I don't drink beer these days. I am a proud wino.
