I don't want to turn this into a Ratten isn't good enough thread, but he isn't. He has had 2 years and 8 games to come up with a method of kicking the ball out after a behind, and we are exposed every @#$%&! week. We are found out by sides that are discplined and structured every time. Today was nothing short of embarrassing. Did someone forget that round 22 this year is a lot different to the last 7. there is a next week, and we don't give a shit about what number draft pick we get. I'd just like to put that on the record

I won the toss and elected to drink (at half time). Being half hammered I now have nothing constructive,
instructive, obstructive, or destructive to say. In short I've cracked 'em. Good Night from me and it's
Good Night from him.

and 4 of those were their last 4 goals of the second 1/4. they had four 7 point plays in a row, and the 5th luckily enough spilled our way.

Just horrioble to watch

I need to post. I don't want to be negative.

- Man for Man we were not as good due to injuries
- Must select an in an under midfielder next week. Pfeiffer? Roll the dice we can not win without one
- Please coach better

Disappointing.... How many turnovers directly led to goals?? 7?? 8???

Agree on commentary about out midfield pressure being horrendous - it seemed like we decided "Frontal Pressure" was the go, and thought that would mean the ball always stayed up there, so our backmen were set up as lambs to the slaughter, like the bad old days.....

The highlight for me was that we kept trying - even one of the direct turnovers and goals was on the end of some stupendously daring and visionary play from Russell and Walks which filled me with joy..... It was just a shame that a basic skill error at the end of that beauty let us down....

We were embarrassed by a bigger, better drilled, more skilful, tougher team

Is it time we implemented a kick in strategy, or should we stick with the "Kick it the big guy and hope" option?

Over handballed and skills fell away badly under pressure.

Outcoached again. Last time we flooded to much and had no forwards. This time we flooded our own forward line. The Crows just ran it through the middle like a training run.

We really lack hardnuts. Hadley is slow but we missed his grunt. Ab is not good enough but we have no-one else.

Fev is a great talent but never works hard enough, sets the standard for pressure or does the other things you expect of someone in the leadership group.

Juddy looks tired a desperately needs some toughies to help him out

Gibbs was good.

JR made mistakes but at least tried to get some run.

We looked rudderless and leaderless.

Crows are a genuine flag chance.

Crows have drafted really well without any top draft picks. Thay have so many midsize, tough, skilful running players and they are so disciplined

Even when under no pressure we consistently kick and handball to team mates feet or over their head. Tippett is good, but often the delivery to him is fabulous and hard to defend

Saw one of the great marks, even if it was a Crow.

Did someone say Johnson was a good kick, does that mean his kicks look good, or that they go to Carlton players

Yep, at least we can say we saw the mark of the year. Completley outclassed today by a better, bigger and smarter team. At least Fev should win the Coleman, shame that after 8 years we dont get to see a final.

really missed our first choice CHB and FB today. Wiggins, Walker, O'Hailpin, Johnson in defence is turnover central

adeliade absolutely fantastic today and we were pretty good till about 15 mins into the 3rd when it all got too much for us.

brisbane not as good as that

Same way we got flogged by Essendon* - refusal to use the corridor - going wide and getting crmped on the boundary and then watching the turnover being taken straight through the middle for an opposition shot at goal.

Once or twice in the last quarter we went through the middle and looked quite dangerous (maybe not dangerous but effective)

Some ridiculous umpiring mistakes that had no bearing on the outcome but the deliberate to Stevens in the first was ridiculous and the push in the back to Fev in the second that wasnt paid added to the frustration of the day.

I think the players, like a lot of us posters were looking ahead to our first Final in 8 years.

Time to regroup and focus on our first final in 8 years next week.

Got that right mikkey.

Adelaide - our bogey side 'coz they're well-coached, well-drilled, disciplined, professional, talented, and tough and strong.

Guess it was good to be there for the mark of the year. What's that now - Burton's 3rd or 4th car?

 Maybe whoever said it actually had the pleasure of planting their size 9's fair on his backside. I know I wanted to today.

My deepest condolences to all Blues fans iving in Victoria ... after 8 years, to not see the boyz play thier first final live because of that weak as piss effort must just be shattering.

I fortunately (or unfortunately depending on circumstance) live in Brazil so was never going to go to the final and only have internet streams (an absolute godsend!) but I would just like to say .....

Better Brisbane at the Gabba than the scum at the G!

Again we got found out ... we are still not there against certain teams ... Adelaide proved that again today as would have the scum next week. These are the 2 teams that we seem to do whatever we can to lose to.

Oh the pain if after 8 years those jagoffs were the ones to end our season. Fancy our chances much much more against the Lions even at the Gabba.

So no real point over analysing what happenned tonight ... we had a shocking week really ... and have taken the foot of the accelerator ever since the melbourne game. Hopefully we get our mojo back and play well going into finals.

As ever only time will tell.

GO BLUES!

cant help but think we got caught up with abit of flow on effect last week.

against the dees, just a stroll, and we took that form into this week, against a side that was up for it, and wanted a home final, and got utterly smashed in the process.

suprising game to be honest.

we scored over a 100 points, normally not a bad score, but lost by 72 flower points.

adelaide where impressive, there wasnt much they did that didnt turn to gold, whilst everthing we did turned to shit. their defence, was outstanding, the run, the structure, very impressive.

they will smash the dons!!
