No TV of the game here until 8pm so can only go by the radio call.

Happy with the win. This was always going to be a flat week. If Brisbane win tonight then IMO our finals campaign preparations will start in earnest tomorrow.

Very sad for Hadley. A pre-season or two for Jefferey G and hopefully he'll be kicking 3 or 4 regularly against the top sides.

Well, I haven't seen the game yet as I was working, but I can see there is a fairly lacklustre response to a big win. Not entirely surprising though.

Very pleased to see the JR is continuing his good form. I hope he really makes his mark come September.
Also nice to see Gibbs and Murphy powering along still.

Next week is going to be an interesting one. Army will be back which is great news. I think he has become quite important to our side. It's just a shame about Hadley. He has the worst luck with injuries... and just as he was coming into form. Finding someone other than Judd to be the extractor will be a tough one now for the MC.

Happy for the win.

Sad to see Hadley go down. He's really been impressive the past two weeks. That is a huge loss for us and one I don't believe we can recover from. We always had the bigs down back that we could hide the losses of Jamo and Waite to a certain point, but now we really lack inside midfielders. Who cleans the pack?

Can AJ be transformed into that type of player? Doesn't have the best use of possession but he's tough as nails and that's what we need right about now. I know he's a tagger and that's his role but can we possibly expect anything more out of him than what we've been getting?

Hopefully someone like Grigg can step up and make a name for himself against the Crows and further on against Essendon*/Brisbane

Bit of a nothing match. Good to see Walker playing so well. I love Jordan Russell. He and Simmo are my favorite players on the team. Jordan's run from the backline is something that has the ability to give team fits. JR has really been very damaging the past few weeks. That back half spot is his. He took a claim to it and has made it his own. It's a vital one too. Stop the damaging half forward / pocket player, get the ball on your own and use it to the team's advantage. Vital.

Listen to all you miserable bastards.

2 years ago who'd have thought we could be blase about kicking 150+ points and a 10 goal win! And us on the winning side for good measure!

Yes there is much work to be done, and the defenders will want to sharpen up.

That kid Garlett is going to be a star. Has plenty of X factor and you can tell that he really really wants it.

Question for the trivia buffs - was that the highest number of Indigenous players ever to take the field in a Carlton side - Garlett, Betts, Anderson & Walker? Can't remember having 4 in the squad previous to this year let alone on the field at the same time.

Ratts will have to get them to the ground fired up next week after that lot.
Very flat and a training drill.
What I didn't like was the overuse of handball. 253 for the match. Against good teams we have lost every game where we have handballed more than kicked. Take note for next week.
I thought Garlett played a cracker and I did say before round one that he looked better in his highlights reel than Yarran. When he and Yarran are running loose in the forward line with Eddie spending a bit more time in the midfield, we will be better for it. Garlett = a huge bonus pickup.

All you nervous nellies need to take a chill pill, seriously....we never got out of second gear and we belted em by 10 goals. We took it easy and rightfully so, the game was over before t began and we need to save ourselves for rd 22 and the finals.

Amazing how after all these horrible years that a 10 goal win isn't enough for some people; unbelievable. :hitcomputer:

Yeah, it goes from.. 'we're showing good signs' and 'plenty of positives' when we lose ....to 'boring as batshit' and 'not playing well' when we win by 10 goals. :screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

For anyone saying that Garlett not having anyone on him contributed to his 4 goals.

Take a look at the game again. These types of players can't have anyone stand them because they are constantly moving all the time and anticipating where the ball is going. He harrassed and tackled yesterday and created opportunities for himself and others.

He read the play really well yesterday and that paid off.

It will also teach defenders not to fixate on Fev when you have a livewire in your F50.

Great game by the little skinny fella and would have done wonders for his confidence.

..a good game, and definately not as 'crappy a win' as some are making out.. ..the dee's are wooden spooners by choice this year, they are not the bottom team [ladder position for picks 1 & 2 their motivation].. ..i'd clearly put the tigers as the worst team of this year.. ..just cos the result was as close to predetermined as you can get, didn't make this a nothing game.. ..

..our mids workrate was good after a sluggish start, and their handball and link up play looked smart [a few fumbles aside].. ...AJ's job on davey was superb, considering the white hot form davey has been in this year [has to have the most consistent/accurate kick of the season (AA form davey)].. ..and the good spread of goal kickers, with fev still kicking a bag [and not looking too switched on either], and Garletto finally going for goal instead of impossible assists was great to see as well..so sharp.. ..and the line breaking runs of Walks and JR [and Army to come back in] is exactly what we've been lacking for too long..

Garlett=garnet=GEM!!!!!
How thrilling was it watching his skills today.Amazing.
I think maybe....we were all a little flat....due to doggies wiping out our top4 chances nite before. If they'd lost..I reckon we all would have been up and about yesterday.Sitting there..all the fans looked as subdued as the boys.
But.....really..if we'd been top 4 and lost 1st round.....we'd be where we are going to be anyway...right???
So...next week...all the passion will be back on both sides....
and it will be a huge late arvo game..and we will all realise that the next week.....is gonna be....OMG.....EVEN BIGGER!!!!!!!
time to get.....very EXCITED!!!!!

yEEEEEEEEE....haaaaAAAAAAAA!

PS...con would be the little comedy capers act where we gave D's a goal in 3rd quarter....

Just shows how far we have come in 2 years that we are not happy with the win. It was a very dull game but watching Fev and Garlett was a highlight. Funny, I didnt notice Judd much and then saw the stats and got over 30 disposals! Really sorry about Hadley.

In a game where percentage is important, we really needed to win by between 80-100 points.

If we happen to win next week and the Pies win. I don't want to hear any bitching and moaning that we missed the top 4.

We will only have ourselves to blame.

We should have smashed Melbourne and losses to Hawthorn and Essendon* will prove to be costly.

All the nervous nellies and expectations are symptomatic of barracking for Carlton.

We're not about to set off fireworks just because we make the finals it's more than that for us....we won't settle untill we are the best again...I'm content with that....so all your nervous nellies carry on....keep expecting the best because that is the only path to real success.

Go blues

Who would have thought that losses to other teams may be costly?
Melvey, is that you?
