Fev wont be traded.
Cant see our merchandising dept selling too many Sporny and Glenny Bowyer jumpers...

Thoughj if i were Fev id be taking a real hard look at my options and if west Coast came knocking on my door.. id be listening,

Who the hell wants to play for a club where the supporters bag its only TRUE SUPERSTAR???

@#$%&! wits!!!
Fev is a huge talent... too good for this current team.
My favourite player to watch in the AFL... and he loves the club more than just about anyone at the club.

He will stay....

If Fev goes where in more shit than I can imagine. I'm with you Synbad, love watching the guy play, even when he's having one of his 'Richo' days (which are becoming few and far between). The man is still maturing, and will be much more productive once we get a midfield that can support him on a regular basis.

Fev = Carlton at the moment.

I think his attitude since he has come back from his suspension has been great.
Those two weeks obviously gave him time to settle down and have a think about the way he is going about his football.
So far it seems to work.

And yeah, Deano, you are right.

Fevola = Carlton.

If we didn't have him up forward, who would we rely on to kick our goals?

i grew up supporting a carlton team with quite a few "lovable larrikins" so i have a bit of a soft spot for fev.

with fev's pace off the mark, and his long kicking, he could blow louganis-lloyd and the g-train out of the water if he moved to west coast. he would be awesome at a big ground like subiaco with that midfield!!

but i would still be very surprised if he didn't line up at carlton next year.

IIRC, didn't Essendon* offer us their first round pick for Lance but we wanted more?

Somehow, I think we should have taken that if that was the offer.

PJ I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that the club offered to pay half his contract to lure other clubs to take him this season, and it didn't work out.

I am not confident we will be able to trade him this year either. Assuming nothing happens at trade time, I think its worthwhile to renew Lances contract. But it would have to be a PERFORMANCE based one. Something like a base salary of 100-150K, but incentives for goals kicked games played etc. To me that money is more realistic for him, and offering him incentives, would hopefully encourage him to keep motivated and put in 110% in every game he plays.

Still I could just be dreaming...

Fev is 24yrs old, is the best kick outside 50 in the comp, has kicked 60-70 the last 2 yrs in an ordinary team, quick, good lead, strong hands, good size & forms part of the spine. Yeah, lets get rid of him.

Oh & while we're at it, lets trade Walker, Thornton, Stevens.........F*ck it. Lets trade off everybody & start again!!!!

Am I the only person NOT ruling out the possibility of Lance being *just* delisted.

FWIW, I think he still has something to offer us, but it's clear he's always going to be high maintenance and maybe Denis' patience is wearing thin. ;)

He won't be delisted.
He'll either stay with us or we will get something in return for him.

Just out of interest, if Fevola stated he wants to leave, what would you accept for him?

Despite the fact I'd love him at the Dogs, I don't think he will accept the bottle of tomato sauce and a bus card we would offer him.

I think it was his salary that prevented it from happening?

I would keep Fevola and trade Whitnall if thats possible..Lance has run his race with us and needs a new club for the sake of his own career.
My problem is what would you get for Lance...

A 2nd rounder or a player.

I've got a theory that he could end up at the Saints should Gehrig retire.

i reckon there'd be a few clubs out there who would love to have lance as their 3rd forward.

Agree with this. I think we've seen the peak of Lance's career and he'll never reach the heights he reached circa 2000 ever again. IMO, he's only a support player at best these days. Lance will only attract interest from clubs that need a support (3rd Tall) forward. His days as an elite CHF are over AFAIC.

Essendon*, Dogs, St.Kilda all fit this criteria.

So given that we're likely to get a decent stab at the PSD, as well as having some freed up salary cap money to splash around, do we look at recruiting a youngish forward gun that complements Lance? (Maybe in Fisher we're halfway there anyway???)

I don't reckon we'll get much joy at the trade table with Lance, and I don't think his mental skills have ever been in question, so why don't we make the best of what some may consider a bad scenario, keep Lance with the intention that he'll only ever be a third forward option. By improving our KPP stocks Lance would have the freedom of floating around HFF, rather than being THE focus either at CHF or CHB.

Oh, and for the record I's like two Fevola's, one to lead and one to kick it to him. Fev's field kicking to players on a lead is first class, no wonder he spits the dummy, as much as I hate it when he does.
