can someone explain why we had a 17 (and sometimes 18) man flood for 4 quarters against Richmond?
I didn't quite understand that one......?

A win is a win but geez i dont get to excited when we go forward and the ball is in Bentley or armfields hands..

Well done to Hartlett who got through UNSCATHED!!!!!
Fev kicking more than 8.
Other than that what an average boring game to be at. and it was cold.

Just home and trying to thaw out. What a horrible game, thank goodness for Fev. Never seen so many skill errors, i know the conditions were difficult but i lost count of the number of handballs that didnt hit targets.
You cant tell me that having experienced players in Scotland and Stevens wouldnt have been better options than some out there today. Okay, Ratts you have proved your point,( whatever it is), bring them back next week. Anderson was terrible, Bentley is not up to it, Fisher is so slow and cant stay on his feet, Armfield ran around like a headless chook all day.
Better improve on today if we want to stay in the 8.

Terrible second half. Garlett great pressure in the forward 50 locking it in. Held his spot for sure. Judd brilliant early but faded. Kreuz great. Hammer showed some special glimpses as well and I thought JR worked hard. 4th quarter in Perth, plus the travel and 6 day turn around definitely took it's toll, but frankly, we need to do so much better then that to match with any of the teams above us. Second half was awful. Thank whichever omnipotent deity you believe in that we had Richmond this week and the fact that Moreton and Riewoldt can't kick from set shots. On another note, I had to switch in Vickery to my DT with Sandilands injury, so glad he booted a couple anyway.

Once I saw O'hAilpin was out, I knew things were going to be that little bit more difficult. And (whilst not a great forward) Hampson's early injury had the potential to make things a whole lot worse (with Kreuzer having to ruck the whole day and not play any minutes forward).

I knew from the opening bounce, to win we needed a Fevola show, and boy did he give us one. What a legend!

No Stevens, Scotland, Waite, Warnock, Wiggins, Bower, O'hAilpin, Hadley, Austin or Walker.

Suffer Yellow and Black.

You could only take 3 players from that list whose absence is truly felt...the others are either not good enough to get a game or simply not good enough to play AFL...and Warnock is an unknown.

It wasn't that long ago that we would put in an effort like Richmond's today, and be encouraged by the team's efforts.
We're a better side now, we won and we are disappointed .
All that shows is the expectation has gone up .
We have a long way to go but, we are on the way.

Thankd god for Fev thats all i can say because without him we would have lost !

you are joking arent you, Fev didnt win the game for us,,,,,,, Judd did !!! His first half was brilliant !!!

Lucky they didnt kick straight in the 3rd term,,,,1 goal 8 pts

A very unatractive game, lucky we were playing Richmond, if we play like that in the next two Games( Sydney & Collingwood) we going to get rolled !!!!!!!!

I really do not get soem people. Ok the game was not pretty but we got the 4 points which is what we are after. i would much prefer the 4 points and a scrappy affair than a really good effort against the saints but still lose.

Now i did not get to watch the whole game cos i was playing myself but i have a couple of questions for people who saw the game. How did Hartlett go? And what about the man who so many people seem to love in Anderson?

People forget that we had a 6 day break after a Perth game. Team clearly tired late in the game. Bradles said before the game that the Perth 4th qtr had taken its toll.

And to all the Ratten bashers: Ando did not have such excuses - let's look at all the posts telling us Ratts is an idiot for not playing him
.

We were all calling for Ratts to play Ando when he was in red hot form and full of confidence......He would still be dissapointed after getting his opportunity today.

Special mention to JR today, played without fear and I loved it!

Ugly win yes against ordinary side but 8 wins out of 15 means we are on the right side of the ledger -not a great game but needed 4 points and got them
Obviously fatigued in the last - need bower austin in defence
Setanta missed
Hollywood Fevola brilliant

Won without walker warnock stevens setanta scotland waite austin bower

Won with bentley hartlett and Anderson all playing after none have played many games this year

pedestrian game - good result

We are such a poor tackling side we must play Hadley if he is fit, even if he plays 60-80 minutes. I know he has weaknesses but I just can not see us being competitive against Sydney (kirk), Essendon* (Watson), Geelong or Stkilda without him

When you think about it, that was probably our worst 22 for the year, we had many passengers, our stars never clicked into top gear through the midfield.

4pts is all we needed, we got it, 4 more wins to go.

Yet again, if it wasn't for some of our own players, we wouldnt have won today

so what platform do i need to catch to get on the houlihan hopefully has played his last game train?

last few weeks he has been rubbish!! his one true asset is his skill level, but the last few weeks he has been as bad if not the worst skillwise in the side.
