''he's a nice boy''.

Lol!
I'm sure he is!
and he is sort of improving...I don't mind him being there as much...but....I think it's a bad sign if the media is focusing on JR,as it highlightsth efact that we are playing half a team of hacks at the moment.(sigh)...
still...good on him...I just don't see th footy smarts when it counts.
bnring back Robbo i say..rather gets lots of games into him(or at least as well as JR!!!)

Looks like they were wrong, doesn't it?

...or timed it perfectly.

Russell ticks most of the boxes

- he has pace
- is a good size
- runs hard

His weakness is his thought process. The club has to work with him on his decision making and thought process and help grow his confidence.

Also moving him up the ground and him winning his own ball and getting his hands on it will only encourage him and his confidence grow.

I think his role as a negative half forward did his development no good.

For all you doubters on TC, rememeber he plays for Carlton.

We should wish that he can take the next step.

I believe he can..

Nicely said. . .hopefully people can think this also when talking about all other players on our list. . .instead of simply giving up and labelling them sh*t, hope for their sake, and the clubs sake that they go well. . .

I'm a doubter, but all the best to him. Like him a lot when he's on

One thing I'm noticing about him, he's getting better & better at getting around the oncoming opponent. A couple of times against freo in that 2nd qtr, and more against Richmond. In the past he would have tried to dish it off too quickly & made an error, now he has the poise to step around the guy & find a better option.

he's been in our best 5 in both of the past 2 games IMO. . . He's kicking is getting better, not there yet, but he's no longer my scapegoat for a loss. . Lol

Good on ya JR!!!!

Ignore the doubters, trust yourself and I'm sure you'll make it.

Also found this interesting.

Quote:
He said it takes some people a lot longer to mature.

"He felt that from 0-50, I was just a bit player and building my confidence, that I was going to step up between 50 and 100 and live up to the potential I showed during my junior career.

"I believed him. He makes me believe I can do it, he gives me the confidence to go out there and have a crack."

Excellent insight, I guess JR who spends most of his working week with Ratts has a different view of him, than some of those that sit on the side lines, yet profess to know everything about his coaching style and what he is doing wrong. :screwy:
