It wasn't really an option anyway. West Coast wanted Kennedy and that was that.

Bower has been much better than Kennedy since the trade anyway.

Hampson back to the Gold Coast and Kennedy back at Carlton........... save this post for future reference

..dunno Melvos, i reckon there's still some ???'s about mister Kennedy's durability/longevity.. ..he didn't play too many games last year for WC, and this year he's played about a half dozen.. ..i like the kid, and i hope he makes it [and especially if he makes it woulda loved him at CFC longterm] but he's always gonna be a solid CHF more-so the straight-line variety vs the more mobile modern day version.. ..personally i reckon he'll be more use as a FF..

Good a Carlton Player flew the flag at a young age, willing to exert some personality on a game. So he over shot the mark. We need more Aussies

Reported in The Age that Josh has resigned with the Eagles for another 3 years on a contract thought to be worth $900K.

Finally saw the freo match.

A couple of his handballs were average in one sense cause they put team mates under extreme pressue. But at least his handballs hit their target even if it was the wrong option, which is more than a few other players can say (Houlihan, I'm looking in your direction). His judgement in open play willl improve with more game time.

Lets not let that distract us from the fact that some on his efforts in one on one contests are first class. He'll go a long way I think.

I think his last quarter was pretty special other than a dud handball to Murphy which put him under a lot of pressure. Austin had taken the ball near the wing, was on the run and moving.

A far worse handball was Fisher's to Simpson which was done under far less pressure. Luckily Grigger put the pressure on and delivered to Carlos for Carlos's 4th.

But back to Austin, a few clear spoils and tackles were very special. Great ground speed and a good desire to play on and keep thing smoving.

I think we have made some of those in-close handballs part of our team strategy to wrong foot or shepherd out the opposition and release players to create from HB.

Problem is half of our team wouldn't have a flowering clue how to execute them in most game-day situations.
