Stevo got a 3 year contract extension at the end of '07 after overcoming neck surgery.

So unless he's recently received a further extension, he's contracted until 2010.

I don't think it is a co-incidence at all...................... i think it's a certainty.

Stevens is like a Virus to this team. - I'm not questioning his ability or footy nous - I'm talking more about his attitude and negative mindset that leaks out and gets soaked up by the youth that surrounds him.

I'm fine with having him play a few more games in the Bullants.

Edit:- Changed description.

I think Stevens has clearly become a liability. He is not the hard running, polished and damaging midfielder he once was. It's unfortunate, and he has done well to get back on the park after his neck injury, but I don't see him in our best 22 now or in the future.

Hopefully he saves himself some face and retires at the end of the year, but i doubt it.

The picture of Stevo in the Hun today from yesterday's game for the Ants, really doesn't do him any favours.

I'm far from being Stevo's biggest fan, but that term makes me cringe. I don't like it.

Ok he is a SWINE FLU (see quote below) spreading through the playing list then.

Quote:
Swine influenza (also called swine flu, hog flu and pig flu) is an infection from a fat, lazy unaccountable footballer by any one of several specific types of swine influenza virus.

Sorry mate. I've since changed the description.

Appologies.

Stevo is a front runner... his problem is the other way he is very lazy..we need to form a team that plays well both offensively and defensively and he no longer fits into that scenario...and he's not alone there are others who will be weeded out as well...I hope.

ill continue to seemingly the only one who rates him.

His flaws are spotlighted, just like fevola, therefore when everyone is aware of them they seem more hurtful. But no-one will mention how jamo cant play on bigger bodies, how murphy doesnt run hard defensively, how waite has brain phases etc. . .my point is that his upside (great disposal, strong body, and superb footy brain) outweigh his imperfections. . .

I'm aware of his faults, but to say he's bringing the team down is a bigger overstatement than Essendon* fans giving brent stanton a 'future brownlow medalist' tag. . .

Stevo is, and will continue to be a huge asset to our football club.

he was watching the game at a pub near my house, kicking back with a beer and few mates.... his interest level wasn't impressive.

Well we did have a 5pm eastern start for the freo match. . . but id have also thought that his recovery would take a while, especially if he also hurt his elbow.

Probably got to watch the second half. Would've been hard for anyone in his position to watch.

Noticed Stevo in the change rooms at half time trying to rev up the lads.
