Carlos, Carrots, Gibbs were great
Hammer is coming along nicely.
Stone cold...love his intensity, but decision making needs to improve. Does he live with JR?

BENTLY :eek: :eek: :eek:
ARMFIELD...go away and come back when you can kick.
FISHER.... i'd prefer the Wiggler.....and that's not good!

Can't wait for 1AW, SCOTLAND, and Robbo to come in.

PROS
- Bryce Gibbs played football like many other 20 year olds couldnt dream of
- Judd, there was one moment in the last quarter where he went to tackle the guy then ended up RIPPING the ball from his hands. GUN
- Setanta his kicking, apart from one shot in the third quarter was fantastic, he led well and presented
- Kreuz played on Sandilands and dominated as soon as the giant went off for a rest
- Carrazzo's goals :clap:

CONS
- first quarter
- kicking accuracy
- Bentley
- Johnson (WHY NOT ANDERSON?)
- that we let freo get that kind of lead in the first quarter

A big :clap: :clap: to the WA Blue supporters, the cheering was loud and proud and the song at the end, well what can you say :smoking:

They were fantastic! When Gibbsy slotted the sealer in the last they went OFF!! :grin:

Oh yeh forgot the big fella. Carlos was brilliant and seems to have really found his home the last month at CHF. Thankfully no more Cloke if he keeps this up.

Pros:
- Judd: Don't know where we'd be without him. Won us the the game, clearly.
- Gibbs: Best game for a long while, and kicked a couple of important goals. Needs to be a goal kicking midfielder every week.
- Thornton: Saved us a few times in defence and his leadership in the backline was vital. reads the play well.
- O'hAilpin: Provided a focal point for us, and dare I say we may have found a decoy to Fev - great return with 4 goals.

Cons:
- Undiscipline play in the first quarter (almost cost us the game)
- Slow start
- We have a long way to go in alot of areas
- Poor skills
- Sticks in the coaches box - get him out of there :mad:

PROS:
- We won;
- JUDD;
- GIBBS;
- Carrots;
- Carlos;
- Several players who were poor early in the game fought back to make a contribution (eg. JR, Austin, Johnno, Bentley, Houlihan, T-Bird, Murphy);
- Sandilands may well have been injured, but I thought Hammer & Krooze won the ruck battle in the 2nd half;
- our fitness.

CONS:
- last week's 2nd half continued into the 1st quarter this week;
- inaccurate kicking;
- lack of defensive pressure from our forwards and mids for periods of the game;
- Armfield's disposal.

A question for those who watched the game- how did Betts and Garlett go? Cheers :thanks:

We looked like a rabble in the first half and im not talking about the undisciplined acts. When we were let off the leash and attacked the game we looked good. When directed to play negative defensive mindset football we go into our shells!

Pro:
Was so PROUD of Setanta's performance today. Well done!

Con:
Armfield having to always run at full tilt then try kick the ball. The kid needs to learn to steady up and doesn't need to run at top speed all the time

Both were quiet, although both we're involved in a team goal at a vital stage in the last.

PROS:
- Gibbs was brilliant, particularly in the last quarter when the game was on the line
- Setanta great up forward with 4.3 and could be a great short term fix for our CHF issues.
- Judd sublime again, one of our best
- Russell played well early on. Still hearts in mouth when he disposes the ball, but he gets in good positions and is hard at it.
- Carrots shows he can kick goals when the match is in the balance from outside 50
- Good win interstate against our bogey team.

CONS
- Another poor start, trailed by 34 early on in the second quarter.
- Bentley struggled.
- Fisher not up to it. Absolutely terrible disposal.
- Innacuracy at goal, we were shocking. Missing set shots from inside 50, kicking out on the full, not making the distance. Really need to work on this. Kicking 14.19 in perfect conditions is a disgrace.

x2

Kudos for sticking your chin out NBH.

Bentley did fluff it a few times today, but there were times when he threw his body into packs with no care for the consequence. If you can't be skilled, at the very least you need to be desperate and fight your guts out for the ball.

:thumbsup:

- Fighting back from 34 pts down
- Judd 35 explosive touches, 7 clearances and some wonderful tackles
- Gibbs 33 touches, 2 goals and sublime skills
- Carazzo 33 touches, 2 big goals in the last and plenty of run
- The Big Irish our most effective forward
- An interstate win
- Back above the Bombers!

CONS
- Being 5 goals down in the 1st quarter and 34 pts down in the 2nd
- Players not keeping their feet in key contests
- Bentley not quite up to it
- Armfield runs hard and far but his kicking kills us
- Struggling to overcome the team placed 15 on the ladder

Judd = Genius
Gibbs was back to his damaging best
Russell actually took the game on and proved he can play. Several times he got the ball and ran hard forward. :thumbsup:
The big Irishman has found a position, woohoo.
We won ugly.

Con
Fancy giving Freo that sort of start!!
We looked so bad in patches. The gap between our best and worst is a chasm.
Geelong like set shot conversion rate.

Pros-
Persistence.

Realising at the right time, (when the game was on the line), that forward movement is about pressure regardless of umpires decisions.

The boys that came in generally made a better impression than those left out. Bentley did as many good things as he did bad but he kept trying to the end. He didn't drop his head.

Russell.

Simmo on song on the run is such a fantastic player.

Austin recovered from a bit of a umpire induced shocker and has really good hands for a defender his size.

Gibbs- (but he needs to impose more.)

We won one of 'those games that good teams just need to win etc.'

Grigg is a @#$%&! champion.

Cons-

The first quarter we watched it unfold rather than respond.

Browne would have been a real asset in the game today.

Not pretty.

Inaccuracy on goal.

It's across the competition at the moment but the umpiring was so inconsistent as to be laughable.

Sorry, match report says Austin was reported for striking Suban (surprise, surpise).
