Russell is miles away.. he isnt a natural at finding the ball.

Is this something we should be concerned about?

Synbad's right, he isn't ready yet. ....... as he gradually learns to read the game he'll get better and better. He just hasn't got a natural football brain that's all.

Could it be that we picked the wrong first round kid again????????????????

egan sure has those filth fans salivating (ok, maybe they should put their false teetch back in) and he went the pick after russell.

but let's give russell time to adjust and to bulk up.

Egan looks McLeod-esque at times though so I hope Russell does make it.

5 goals in the reserves. Play Carlos. He's big and with Livo back, we're starting to look bigger, which has been our problem. He can lend some support to Fev.

Let's face it, we may or may not get the spoon, but it's time to play him.

Fisher is back, therefore Setanta has to go back onto the long term injury list

Isn't Hartlett on the LTI so we can play Carlos?

I think Harlett can resume full training this week so that's out.

I'm happy to see Setanta play out the rest of the year at VFL level and pick him up as a senior next year! Mind you.......it pisses me off when we have a rookie that is busting to get into the side and can only get 15min of game time when we have 2 x players on the LTI list!

Setantas game was brilliant, best I have seen this year

Fish was good some very nice work.

Bryan was quieter than usual

Good effort by the Bullies given the conditions, it was blowing a gusty swirly gale down the ground

Reserves results.

WILLIAMSTOWN 3.3 7.4 10.7 18.13 (121)
NORTHERN BULLANTS 3.1 8.4 9.8 9.11 (65)
Goals: Williamstown: Galea 6 Smoker 5 Ralph 2 Clifton Morrison Theodore Proctor Picken. Nthn: Quinton 2 Mitchell 2 Maslin Furlan Pell O'Donohue McIntosh.
Best: Williamstown: Boyd Picken Galea Smoker Theodore Meyer.
Nthn: Maslin Colbert O'hAilpin Donohue Bunn Mitchell.
Reports: Nil. At Preston.

Looks like Aisake is getting the hang of the game as well as his older brother. A few more bests and he may get a run in the Bullants seniors against AFL standard players.

BTW do the rookies train at Carlton or at Preston??

"A good football brain", is that a euphemism for "can't make it to the contest" ?

No it means that he uses the Jedi mind trick to make the contest come to him.

It actually means he is a step in front of those who dont have a good footy brain.
Interestingly i had a chat to Rod Ashman at the 'pie night' he said footballers today lack footy smarts.

Thats not the case with young Luke.. hes as smart as they come. He and Eddie are razor sharp when it comes to footy smarts.
