- when we play with intensity and purpose, preferably through the middle, we do well.

- judd is the best player in the comp & certainly the best player we could have got for our needs at the time. he leads by example. however, the rest of the team now need to follow his lead.

- still think it's more about HOW we bring the ball into the forward line rather then WHO is there. sure, it would be nice to have another quality tall but I suspect Kruezer will become that player in time and Setanta did well there this week. (also, that's not the first beautiful pass he's delivered to Fev in the past few weeks...) but we need a better strategy to bring it in.

- prefer to see stevens play wing/forward rather than half back

- hope AJ takes montagna next time

- browne/armfield should be able to take milne

- garlett is skinny but pretty amazing in moments, nevertheless. knows where to be, has pace & skill.

- now, we simply MUST beat Essendon* & freo. and any other matches against teams below us, damn it!

1: As I've been saying, St Kilda aren't as good as everyone has previously been saying they are.

2: The defence structure didn't suffer nearly as much as we thought it would without Thornton. Leading to the inevitable conclusion that indeed it may be better to leave him out even when fit.

3: Poor kicking at goal has cost us one more match. For professionals, it's really not good enough.

1. If AJ is not the best shut down player in the AFL right now, he is in the top 3

2. The reason we will play finals this year is that Carlton have a solid defensive unit ... one that has the depth to cover the loss of key members: T-bird and Waite. :thanks: :smoking:

3. I hate smug little Schneider almost as much as I hate Milney

1. This time next year, with a bit more experience we will win games like this.
2. We need to improve or goal kicking.
3. We need to improve or goal kicking.

1. We are coming.
2. Judd is a robot.
3. Geelong will hammer St Kilda.

1. as great as Judd is, for him to have the most clearances, less game time and busted nose and all that went with it, is not good enough

2. that Murphy really should be our VC, and next year Stevo (even though i'm a fan) should step down. 2 goals and 10 tackles from Murph, easily our 2nd best midfielder

3. we need another FP, cos Betts is awesome in the middle

1, It is who we have in the forward line just as much as 'forward structure' - O'hAilpin is not Cloke.

2, We really don't know how to convert...no - really!

3, I'm not very good at these kinds of things.

1. As frustrating as these four close losses have been, they will serve the playing group in the long run- it hasn't brought any big heads or unwanted attention.

2. We are getting a clearer picture of what our future premiership side looks like- one that has flair, dash and pace. Also, it is the no-names that are filling the breach for us (AJ, Austin, OhAlipin, Army, Browne, Garlett)

3. We are following our own blueprint- it's been an exciting journey thus far! I feel the club is growing together, from the players and the coaching staff to the board level. No doubt, Dick would be looking down and smiling at what he sees......

1. Austin can keep his feet

2. Irish better value than Cloke/Fisher

3. If we meet St Kilda in the finals I am VERY CONFIDENT we can knock them over

1) Milne is a good shot on goal from 60m out on the boundary line

2) Riewoldt is a good shot on goal from 60m out on the boundary line

3) Dal Santo is a good shot on goal from 50m out on the boundary line

4) Montagna is a good shot on goal from 50m out on the boundary line

I learned one thing: Judd has balls bigger than King Kong.

1) When we move the ball quickly and run across half back we're good

2) When we play a slow chipping game and hang onto it across half back we're shit

3) Kudos to the MC for picking a good team they should stick with now.... only Houlihan and maybe Garlett (and maybe Armfield depending on how he travels) are replacable and I'd probably drop Houlihan for Thornton next week and then maybe Garlett for Warnock when he's fit - injuries permitting.

Tyrant we do look better moving it quickly but I'm not sure having Thornton back in the side will help us maintain that style of play...he loves chipping it sideways and going the safe option all while the opposition set up their zone.

1. Our defence may be a no-name one at the moment, but will be as good as any teams in the comp in the next few years

2. We don't have anymore glaring holes in our structure anymore. The recruiting and development guys have done a steller job in puting this list together.

3. My Collingwood supporting Father and Father-in-law are now acknowledging that we will win a premiership in the next 3 years.

But thats a symptom of the way we approach some games ..... Simpson does the same thing in the games we're tentative in.

I don't think Thornton sets the game-plan or the agenda.

The other thing I learnt was that Austin can play in a small. He is athletic and makes good decisions. I wouldn't put him on Lovett or Davey but he could definitely play on Monfries or Skipworth and not get done at ground level...

QFT. Letting NDS run free in the 1st half was suicide.

1. Good on you for having the balls not to support your old mans team

Thornton is probably the biggest culprit in our team for not moving the ball on quickly.

yeah but he's not physically incapable of doing it... thats what I'm saying

He does it a lot when the team mind-set is like that. Its something you could coach him out of if that is the direction we're taking
