Style?
We need to overpossess less and stop looking for easy kicks.
We have a assive amount of players that look for easy kicks and thats because a) sme are naturals at it b) playing to instructions.
Alot of our players dont run hard enough or go in for the ball enough. They look at others do it. So Judd has to do it...
We over finesse.. were too slow to move the ball on and each game we have this area frm the 25 meter mark to the centre where we just sow it right down to a standstill.... which makes it difficult for the forwards.
We do need to be playing with a strong forward structure which means players forward. that stops too many opposition players coming down and swamping our midfielders.
What does Ratts expect when there is no forward that will happen to the midfield??? Of course it will be swamped as there is no reason for too many of them to stay in defence.
Opposition teams will always play better in close than us cos we rely on Judd to do all the heavy lifting with alot of our polayers expecting someone else to flick them the ball.

We do it week in week out....

The opposition do us that way week in week out...

Youd have to start there though wouldnt you?

Ok another thing you notice when you watch us... not many of us know and understand how to use their bodies to give a team mate a chop out.
How come everybody else will use their body on us to create room for someone else and hardly anyone on our team does it....???

Cloke can do it but he didnt learn it with us.... and he isnt the only guy you want to be abe to do it.... cos hes not in the side anyway.....

There are alot of small things we do wrong...

Do we have an idea how to defend above our heads?
Hardly any of our players have a clue how to defend above their heads..
Kick outs?
Someone to be on the defensive side of goals??How many times does this happen to us ?
When there is a ball up 25 meters from OUR goal... how come there is noone standing on the mouth to our goal... usually it gets tapped out the back and they just come along the pockets and out with it...
The amount of bad tackles we give away where we dont have to give away a free and yet we do... there are often 2 or 3 goals like that...
The fact we just handball to players and the opposition cast thir nets around the ball and we cougph it predictably.. over and over again... you can see it all unfold before your very eyes.
We dont have runners.. and the runners we do have are taggers....

Its all basic shit!!!

yeah your right about the small things.... that's where Adelaide killed us, I remember seeing on numerous occassions Adelaide players blocking space to help a team mate mark.........
and we also have a few too many watchers around the ball, that's why i reckon Armfield & Joseph have done OK this year and should continue to play.

Yeah but all Ratts wants from Jospeh and Armfield is to stop there direct opponent from winning the ball....................

maybe but they don't get caught spectating in alot of contests around them.... not from the games i've been to this year anyway.

especially Joseph, he may not be the most gifted skill wise but every game he has played this year he has played with the proper intensity needed at AFL level, a few could learn from him.
