So what you want to do, instead of having safe, defensive players like Thornton, is load the backline with creative players who are good kicks and will take a chance? Players like Johnson, Scotland and Stevens.

dunno if you were being sarcastic but i couldnt sum it up better my self!!!
what we need to work out is would we prefer to be safe and play wide and do that tempo crap at the end of the quarter when we are leading (it frustrated me no end to see cloke hold up that footy with 3 minutes to go and we were in the lead - in the end we conceded a goal anyway)

or


have players take a risk, take the game on and back themselves up??

guys need the confidence to be able to do this and they arent gonna get it with an instinctive mindset of a crab race (moving sideways)
