I think we should follow Hawthorn's lead, and not bother trying this week.

Although the extra cash for playing in the final, and the thought of doing Collingwood out of another GF win would be nice too.

And then if we do win it will be 'Oh everyone knows how seriously Carlton take the pre-season cup and rested their stars to be fresh for the final the next week lol.'

I hate lol.

Should go into this one, one man short (Russell), and see if it really makes any difference.

Bring in Jake, Ellard, Kreuzer, Yarran, Walker, Austin, Bannister, The Chief for Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Fev, Waite and Simmo. Big chance for several fringe players to impress.

Would love to see AJ run with Ablett or Chapman, great learning experience for the kid.

Austin at CHB in place or Waite.

Lets introduce Milburn to Robbo, or if Carlos can somehow play

Yep, like that!

Edwards FF, Kruezer CHF, Walker on ball, Bannister on Bartel, Aussie at CHB, Gartlett, Russell & Joey a full game.

Freshen the guns up for Richmond.

DOA just mentioned on another thread that the club has been given notice months in advance that Walker will be attending his sister's wedding this Saturday.

So, no Walker available this week; for good reason.

The game is on live on Fox Sports 1 again in Melbourne from 7pm.

It beats waiting for Ch7 to start at 8.30.

Complicating the decision is a trip to Bunbury, Western Australia, and a practice match against Fremantle for the loser.

Lose and get a nice trip to WA....

I've been a little surprised this week that so many were keen for us to lose this week as I still feel you may as well keep winning, playing on good grounds etc.

I saw this this morning and now I wonder if anyone feels the same about wanting to see us lose.

I wonder where the filth will play if they lose. I would imagine it won't be to far away for the precious cauliflower.

Now, let's see if I have this right - No Judd, Murph, Gibbs, Fev, Waite, Simmo.

Replacement mids already out are - Tex & Scotland (both playing VFL), Carrots (inj), Browne (VFL?) etc.

Anyone put a midfield group together for this game?

I'll try:

Stevo (assumes Ando or the like will take his HBF?)
Hadley
Grigg
Robinson
Russell
Houla (Yarran, Garlett, Wiggo to take his HFF?)
Armfield
Bannister (tagger?)
Betts (at a pinch?)
Joseph

Ins for Cats - Ablett, Corey, Ling. All can play a bit with biggish bodies. Sure, they will rest Sellwood, Enright, Bartel.

Can our plan C mids do the job?

Bottom line - guys like JR & Hadley should relish this challenge and have their chance to put to rest any doubters and stake a claim for the best 22.

Looking forward to it.
