I understood that our boys are a bit young yet; but thought the statement in that article that "Nick Riewoldt could quite possibly be the greatest No.1 pick ever".....was over the top.

Hoff, they did finish 9th which is equal to a Premiership.

Come, on, it was a good ninth

The bloke who just won a Norm Smith Medal may just take exception to that

the question should be which one of our three #1's will be the most dominant player over the course of their careers. My personal opinion is that Kruezer will turn out to be the best of the three.

He sure looking bigger and stronger from the recent training photo.

Nick Riewoldt may be a very good player, but he will be forever dragged down by his club.

Hodge wins Norm Smith in a Premiership team... that makes him better than Riewoldt, who'll just be another St Kilda star who never won a thing.

Perhaps - and excuse me for jumping to the defence of the MSM - it was more a case of the #1s featured being 2000 - 2004 and our three being 2005 - 2007?

Perhaps the suggestion was that the evaluation period starts at the beginning of the fourth year (when a player might be 21-22 years old)... or perhaps they were looking to fill two pages of large colour photos and ran out of room?

That's how I read it too.

Not sure about running out of room.

Maybe they think it's too early to tell re our 3 lads, but then Murphy came 2nd in the B&F behind Judd, so not sure that argument holds much weight - Murphy clearly has become a very good footballer.
