Its a varied program, not a limited program...and its due to thumb surgery, not his neck.

Nonetheless, his neck will be a concern for the rest of his career. Like all Blues fans, I hope it doesn't cut short his career.

Has said that when an injury like this happens it is virtually degenerative and is never as strong as before. He also commented that a knock in the right position could cause serious problems.

The fact that he is now on a limited program suggests he could be right.

A lot of people were saying that last year and he ended up playing all year. I think his inability to mind a man will get him before his neck does, but I hope he gets it all together and plays until he's 34.

Which is why we should limit his time in the middle.

We are desperately looking for more class in our fowardline, Stevens would be a perfect fit...

Problem is though, his attempts to mark a football under pressure are comical. It makes him a liability up back and lessens any successful chance of him making a good HFF.

It might be time to put him on the wing.

..we used stevo for yrs as our main centre man cos he was all we had, even though stevo is more a winger that you can rotate thru the middle, vs an actual starting mid/c;earance machine.. ..he can do well in the guts cos of his skill/quick reactions, but he's better on a wing and we now have better players to start in the centre than stevo.. ..also, with his neck condition in mind makes more sense to play him off the wing..

Too bad Stevo has his thumb in a splint and won't be doing much boxing

Right now, Stevens is running three times a week, cycling and keeping toned with boxing sessions - presumably one-handed boxing sessions as his thumb is in a protective cast.

I see you read the article as well tb3

Not sure how we can find negatives in Stevens going away for a week to help prepare for the upcoming season.

To be fair I made my comment before the second article surfaced. I knew about Stevo's thumb which is why I thought this thread was very funny when people defended him and said that he was boxing. I am sure you could see the humour in that.

Dieting is a big part of his effort to get back into shape.

Nick Stevens at a health retreat?? What a joke!! he is at a boxing gym. I work out there and he is getting flogged doing 6 hours a day boxing. If that is considered a health retreat the reporter must have been trained by the French Foreign Legions. The facts right please

Yep, if it's written in "Have your say" it must be true!! :garthp:

Stevo came this way earlier in the season to work with rodney ryan who i think may have done some fitness work with melbourne a couple of years back.
