They are joking! Pick 6 is great, pick 41 is ok the rest will be a waste. If we wanted 6 picks we should have at least traded to get into the 3rd round so we don't have so many late picks.

Dude we got Betts,Bentick,Carazoo,Thornton,Fisher,Houilhan, all late picks in the draft or rookies that were good, even think Fevola was a later pick, might as well go for broke and see if any make it. If Setanta wants to go let him plus is their room for Hartlett or Cloke in CHF? Can Bannister keep his spot in the backline? Do we let Bentick try getting more game for another club and redraft if not taken if no one picks him up.

We drafted Betts in the PSD if I recall correctly. Though Kade Simpson was pick 45 or something, our highest pick that year.
But if the club want 6 picks then you can be sure thyey have a good mind as to who they want to draft - not just any old shit. The days of picking up Micky Martyn with pick 87 are long gone...one might hope!

fairly certain fisher was 72 in the same draft.

Do we expect him to come out and say "I think Ryan will more than likely leave Sydney and we are probably in the box seat"

I do with the exception of the box seat comment and something along the lines that we are reasonably confident of getting him.

This would have to be the best draft to get a good smokey given its depth. There would have to be some decent players falling through to the 70's. I am pretty sure our recruiting department has spotted some hidden talent somewhere otherwise why would they have made a big deal of trading up pick 72 for 69 as part of the Warnock deal. I sense we have a plan

Fish was taken at Pick 72 in the 2002ND.

Betts most definitely taken later. Betts has played almost 80 games in his 4 years whereas Fish had the ACL in between. Betts was taken in the 2004 / 2005 PSD.

- Warnock not on the money being reported but the club went from a 3 year deal to four

- Could not guarantee ROK would get to us at pick 6 (dudes from 3AW think Swanny foxing) Swan said it's still a possibility until he says he wants to stay but highly unlikely he will leave

someone better tell that muppet The OX that this was the case... Thank Christ he is gone...

It was an actual President originally.

Roosevelt, early 1900's, look it up.

Didn't hear a thing about AFL, let alone Swanny and his thoughts on 2GB.

Bondi Blue, you can podcast the Sports Today program, I do this, you are a day late, but at least you get some real footy info up here in Sydney. I usually play it the next day driving into work, and skip to the relevant bits.

Either that he can listen to 3AW over the net or if he has a really good radio tune into 1494 2AY who relays out of Albury and listen to it there

Yeah sometimes listen to it at work if working back late on the net as well, sometimes have SEN going as well during the day.

Also have an internet radio in the bathroom at home, listen to SEN in the mornings while getting ready for work......I guess you can see I am desperate for AFL news.......wife gets a little confused in the morning when she hears the weather report that says rain, and she looks out and sees sunshine :-D

2AY Albury.....that's a pretty good radio that will pick up 560km away

I am originally from Albury, and when driving back to Sydney 2AY cuts out pretty eraly in the car when out of radious.

Wasn't implying that Betts and Simmo were picked in the same year - meant to say Betts was PSD (in a leter draft), whilst Simmo was our best pick in the year he was drafted (highest meaning the lowest number...)

I think the Betts situation is an important one to remember - no one touched him in the main draft because he had been injured. So it I guess my initial point was that the scouting staff may well have options outside the conventional box if they wanted 6 picks for the draft. You just never know...

Can only pick it up after about 6.15pm in the car - after that it is fine until about 7.00am where it disappears
