Dead set drop punt of a bloke. Can't see how anyone could defend clobbering someone from behind when that bloke is shaping up for a one on one box. What an embarrassment...

The only trouble with hoping the Hawks and thus Clarkson lost yesterday was that it meant hoping that Geelong and thus Milburn won.

I was reading a book full of footy anecdotes the other day, and there was one realted to this and it said that at the next break there was a bit of talk amongst the players about it and they were throwing up various ideasof how to get him back and Jimmy Buckley just said 'let me have him'

This is straight from the mouth of Robert Walls and for the next 2 qtrs Buckley belted the hell out of Clarkson, he said he believes John Kennedy felt that Clarkson deserved as much, but enough was enough.

Ealry in the last Kennedy instructed Clarkson to stand a metre from the goal umpire, the goal umpire pleaded with Buckley not hit him otherwise he would have to report him.

Undettered, Jimmy maintained his assault until Kenney had Clarkson taken from the ground by the runner.

Jimmy's persistence was admirable.....all the way to clipping Clarksons ears as they ran up the North race.

So becoming a Premiership coach justifies what he did to Aitken?

I didn't realise the weasal was honing his coaching craft when he hit him like a coward.

Does it mean we have to like him now? No. He's still a dirty sniping thug.

Never forgive. Never forget. Grudgingly respect if necessary.

I'm under no obligation to respect him.

Warby as a Lebanese I have a loooooooooong memory.

Perhaps that thing written in stone will be etched on his tombstone, but at the end of the day, he is still a weasal and sniper.

Might be written in stone - but I'm guessing we wont be seeing his statue immortalized in bronze outside the MCG anytime soon (or within the next 50 years either).

But when I called the "Gutless Sniping Turd" factory and asked for some more Alistair Clarkson they said they had plenty of stock.

Clarkson was a coward, plain and simple. He king hit Aitkin from behind. No if's No but's. Noone can justify a cowards act like that. I couldnt give a fat rats arse if he coaches a dozen flags. He is a sniveling dog and deserves No respect, I repeat, No respect at all.

I remember that game well but could never really remember who it was that did the king hit on Aitken. I remember hating Brett Allison for years thinking it was him, until Clarkson got the Hawks job...THEN I remembered.

It was good seeing Gleeson getting him one in the face too, before he packed his dacks and got out of there.

Big deal if he's a premiership coach so is Alan Joyce. Aitken was never the same player after that incident and lets not forget he won a best first year player award in a premiership team. Clarkson is a malignant little dwarf-a bit like Gollum really.

Sometimes looks can be deceiving.

In this case they're spot on.

Warby I don't understand your comments, Wayne Carey is a dual premiership captain but do you think people see that or the person he is?

Hey everyone!....get a grip!.....and get off my case!....Carey?.....

I didn't ever say I liked Clarkson or respected him.....they are all of your words....go back and check.

All I said was ...."He's a Premiership Coach; and it's written in stone for all to see".....I didn't pass any other comments on him.

It's just as I never thought Woewodin and Brian Wilson were good footballers; but it's written in stone that they each won a Brownlow.....like 'em or not.

Warby, nothing against you, but I also have a long memory. I will probably forgive Neil Balme when Satan chases him naked thrice around the MCG, pitchforking is posterior for the entire journey (mind you, I'll probably throw up at seeing Balme naked, so maybe he would have his revenge).
Likewise, I doubt I'll ever forgive Clarkson for his deeds on the field. In 1987 the Battle of Britain was the only game I saw live - I was overseas and missed the whole season. But I will remember Clarkson's act and consider it one of the least brave acts I've ever seen in football. I don't mind Hawthorn - good luck them. They have won a flag after a longish break and deserved it on the day. But any misfortune that comes to Clarkson will be less than he deserves.
I know he is a premiership coach. I also grudgingly appreciate that he must have some coaching ability, otherwise he would remain being the loser he was as a player. However, I will continue to look forward to seeing his demise.
