Has enough time passed since last week for the paperwork to be put in front of him?

Not trying to be alarmist, but it's pretty clear it's not 100% a done deal yet, otherwise it would be a done deal.

He will almost surely sign, but the fact he hasn't had the paperwork put in front of him yet with pen in hand means it's not 100% yet.

And do we think he went out of his way to grab the mike and say he's close to signing? Is it more likely he was asked to make a comment? And if that was the case, do you think he would come out and say "It's not done yet, there's still a few little things that we're not happy with".

I'm 95% sure it will get done, but not 100% sure.

I'm prety sure the players are all away on their end of season trip at the moment. Maybe he'll sign when he gets back!

Don't we just love alarmists. The world would be boring without them. Imagine how boring New Years eve celebration would be if the Y2K thing wasn't around...

He was away in Brisbane a few weeks ago for R21 as well. So he's very busy.

Playres have been back a few days now, surely it's not that hard to get the little piece of paper under his nose with a pen that works? Or maybe it's not as cut and dry as 'here it is, just sign on the dotted line'. Cause if it was that simple, you'd have thought it'd be done by now. Maybe there's still a few little bits to be ironed out.

Just a day trip. Shopping in Honkers and a few hours at Disneyland

I read this, and it sounds like more sense:

Word that i have on the matter from a colleague of mine involved with the Blues is that Marc has agreed to terms with the club (as we all know) but the club is holding off until they know what is a realistic chance in the trade period/PSD. This allows them to structure Marcs contract in a way that will help perhaps free up some money for a new player to come across, and simply give Marc a back ended deal.
He says that Marc is 100% staying, but the delay is simply Marc agreeing to help out the club with potentially a big name signing come trade time.

Sounds pretty right to me.
Would love him at the Crows, but for anyone thinking this kid is leaving, FORGET ABOUT IT

My daughter has been with him since he joined us and after reading this, I can't think of anyone else she could possible admire more. No offence, Juddy.

I have been saying this FOR WEEKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well, since people started complaining about him not signing anyway). Is isn't exactly rocket science, if we have 600k space in the Salary Cap (figure thrown arounf weeks ago so no real reference) that was going to be used to lure Kerr or Brownie, and they did not come, then this money could be given to Murphy next year to free up money in the cap when other players (ala Gibbs' and Kreuzer's) next contract talks come around ...................

As much as I would like to believe the story there is nothing stopping Murph from signing the new contract now and altering at a later stage if required.

Sign and then go back and change it and re-lodge everything? What's the point?

If he's going to sign he's going to sign. Why not hold off? The club won't trade him, he won't walk, and his name on a piece of paper 3 weeks earlier than necessary to appease a few chicken littles on TC and BF is hardly the way to run a football club.

I've no inside info. I'm just completely confident that Murph is going nowhere that isn't covered in navy blue.
