I'm more worried about our tainted 1906-1908 run. Must be why there hasn't been a "streak" DVD released.

Well we cheated in 1906 and 1907 because we had a Coach and the opposition didnt.

If we did cheat in 1995 it was only because the bummers did in 1993. The AFL didn't seem to give a toss about that, so we thought we might as well go ahead and have a crack ourselves. You'd be pretty stupid not to, I reckon.

Not sure if thats in jest but as a Carlton fan you shouldnt concede any cheating at all - there is no evidence of this and there were no penalties. When the Blueseum Writing Crew did their salary cap article we went through to the AFL history department and there was nothing on record about this - its just scurrilous and should be refuted. Wasnt there an amnesty in the mid 1990's anyway?

The whole salary cap cheating thing was 6 years ago... Why do people still insist on still using that in their arguements against Carlton after all this time ?... I find comments about this very passe,.Same as the whole Carlton and wooden spoons thing some people still insist on clinging onto...
Having said this though, you can kind of see people's arguements moving away from that slowly and onto the ridiculous 'deliberately tanking for 5 years so they can get all those high draft picks' arguement... And then there's the old 'if it wasnt for Judd...' or 'if it wasnt for Pratt and his milllions' arguements every time we win...

Can people just flower off already and let us get on with our business...

Well 'they' like to refer to the extra funds they suggest we were paying our players as 'cheating' so that's all I meant by that. I agree that we WERE NOT EVER found to have exceeded the cap in '95. Therefore all our cups are clean.

We did stop the scummers from getting another after they 'cheated' us out of one in 1993, though.

Who is this Noakes guy anyhow? Seems totally irrelevant really.

We could probably sue Fairfax for the false information in that article. Pretty defamatory really.

If you read Cameron Noakes every week you will appreciate that he is usually pretty funny, I'll let this one slide, in fact in some parts it was quite complimentary to us.

Noakes Mongrel Punter articles are one of the high points of the week in footy journalism.

This one's a beauty too if you can get over the irony bypass that most of you seem to have had. You're all so thin skinned and @#$%&! paranoid that someone's having a crack at you that you're missing this for what it is.

Despite the fact that he hates us (as all opposition supporters should) he's pointing out how the opposition coaches are suddenly lining up to take potshots at us and that there must be some subtext - ie they're starting to look over their shoulders and they don't like what they see.

Take this article for what it is. The worst part of being down was having other supporters start to pity us. This article shows that that's no longer the case.

We may not have won number 17 yet but we're back...

It's actually quite funny.

He wasn't being malicious, just cheeky.

Good read given that we are not a feature this week of playing. :(

yeah pretty funny, but the point he also makes is that while we have a great midfield collection, we ain't got much else apart from Fev. Hopefully the next 2 years we'll prove him wrong.

Aaaah....not having read him before....therefore not having heard of him before...yes, the irony completely flew on by.

Even with that information I think the piece needs some work.
