The funniest thing I've seen at the footy in years was when Campbell posed for a photo with a supporter in the middle of TD after Buddy kicked his 100th

Pros:
Gibbs
Thought with the supply Hawthorn got Bower did quite well on Buddy.
Hampson showing a bit more around the ground...he could be a freak forward with his pace.
Joe Anderson beating Brown in a tough one on one
Armfield doing a good job on the supposed Rising Star. Voss thinks he could be All Australian. Voss is only pumping him up because he was an assistant at the AIS while Cyril was there - he wants to get some of the credit.

Cons:
Kickouts
Lack of second forward option
Kicking it down the line even though the Hawks had flooded the wing
Smashed out of the middle
Just lack of hard running/accountability. Whenever the Hawks win the ball in defence they have players sprinting to be an option for the player with the ball. We didn't seem interested in manning them up.

Krueser got through his 1st season in fine style
Another 20+ games under the belt for Gibbs
Bowers strong comeback after his injury
Judd in 2009 will be flowering AWESOME

Cons
Clarkson. I sincerely hoped you get absolutely smashed to pieces in any game you play in the finals. karma will find a way you sad little midget.

Regards Cazzesman

Pros:

Everything that Cazzesman has said above ^^^

Knowing with great confidence that even if the gutless little midget's team make it to the Grand Final, they will be smashed by Geelong :-D

Finals in 2009

Cons:

Too obvious to mention......

It's a worry when your Scum-supporting (future) father-in-law tells you that he feels sorry for Fev because he thinks that he gets a raw deal from the umpires

Oh yeah......

Cons:

Allowing the Dawks to have a free man (Colac bogan Hodge) sitting loose man in defence the whole game, right in the Fev's space. FFS, put a man down there and make him accountable!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I will concede that Hodge can use the ball well, but FFS how easy is it sitting there waiting for the flowering ball to fall in your lap, and then pass it to a team mate with zero pressure?? We had nothing to lose tonight and we were coached like we did. We should have gone all out, it was a nothing game.

Probably showed once and for all that an unhealthy reliance on Fevola will cost us.

We MUST find a decent forward option, even if they are quick and small a la North Melbourne small forwards.

I'm sorry to say that I don't think Edwards or Hartlett are options.

We're short a couple of midfielders and a key forward.

Pros:

- Super effort by Fev  - I almost did at the end of the match
- Gibbs and Kreuzer
- Secured pick 6 instead of 8....I guess thats a pro

Cons:

- Fisher: New recruit for Preston in 2009
- Stevens: Terrible terrible game, hes capable of soooooo much more, yet he frustrates you at times
- Killed in the midfield, wtf was going on there?
- Thornton: Needs a big year next year, career at the crossroads.

I cant think of much more Im so @#$%&! gutted for Fev right now

Pros
- Murph, Gibbs & Kruez kept going even when we were getting spanked.
- Fevs kicking 99 which is a great effort although still jacked off that he missed making history by a goal cos of that dog Clarkson and that idiot McLaren
- Should play finals footy next year

Cons
- We got killed but it didnt really matter cos we were too focused on Fevs getting the ton.
- At least we werent hoping to lose for draft picks
- Too many passengers, time to make the tough calls Ratts
- The season is over! :(

We hate contested football.

We are to slow.

To many passengers.

Poor skills.

Lack polish.

and those who say we don't need Daniel Kerr shame on you. Kerr is Jordan Lewis, Chance Bateman and Sam Mitchell all wrapped up in one

Juddy is crying out for a partner in crime and Daniel Kerr is the man

We got no mongrel about us. No grunt in the middle

Nick Stevens hang your head in shame.

Con : One area that worries me about Carlton & I honestly don't think they have improved on it that much from last year.

The Turn overs and basic skill errors. It just continues to kill us & it just doesn't seem to improve. Its a big worry

We looked better this year because Judd & a fit Stevens added something extra from last year, But we are Still lacking in basic skill errors and not knowing what to do with the football when put under basic pressure.

even when we were winning games this years, Those costly turn overs were evident for all to See. I really hope they Work on this pre-season because there is no way We can make the Finals next year without a big improvement in that area

we have improved but only due to Juddy and the natural footy progression of gibbs and some of the other young guys.

CFC is slowly becoming a bunch of pretenders.

weak as piss. hate contested football. have a bunch of passengers and players that are no good but many on here sing there praises

some of our Young players simply can not handle pressure football from silky sides like Geelong & Hawthorn.

The Likes of Anderson, Grigg, Bowyer, Gibbs & Murphy can only get better.

However there are players on our list whom i feel will not make it. Piffer was an example tonight. He had no Clue where he was. Same thing with Bentick & Saddington. They just don't do enough to Warrant an AFL Career. They need to move on.

Cloke
Fisher
Wiggo
Banno
Houlihan
Carrazzo
Pfeiffer
Bentick

will not and should not play in a premiership for Carlton.

Pros:
Pratt, knowing that he's still pulling the strings
Rediscovering the belief that anything is possible in a half of football - the spirit of 1970 is alive and well.
Judd - his magnificence cannot be underestimated.
Gibbs, as Karen Carpenter sang, "We've only just begun...."
Looking forward to correcting our deficiencies with the following,

1. CHF/CHB
2. Back Pocket
3. Another goal sneak
4. Half back flank that breaks the lines
5. More genuine pace and mongrel, and
6. A partridge in a pear tree.

Cons:
Skills, they're poor at best and a significant part of our failures.
Jordan Russell, I believe the spin doctoring on this site is more wishful thinking than anything else. I will always hold him responsible for sabotaging my happiness and Fev's 100 with that deplorable pass. I hate him.

For me, the disappointment of Fevola not scoring his 100th paled into insignificance to the overall result, which was pathetic.

I don't question the committment of the kids because their hearts were in it, but for some of their senior team mates to perform as they did in a Carlton jumper was shameful. I hope Ratten tore them to shreds.

We have some great youngsters coming through who will eventually lead the way, but we still willingly carry some senior baggage that will hold us back for a while yet, unfortunately.

Yet another dismal performance in a match with big build up and big crowd. last game of the year, but after the spanking we got from the Hawks last year I expected a better effort.

Fish - tries hard but has been crucified as CHF, not big enough or good enough for that and can't kick, falls over a lot. A third forward close to goal or nothing

Stevo - can't ever have been under serious consideration as captain. Unaccountable, a front runner. Good effort to get back after bad injury but will never be a good contributor when things aren't falling his way. Needs to be vastly better at contesting when times are tough

AW great athleticism and toughness but disposal is awful. Perhaps Ratts needs to accept that some of our guys don't have the sklls for a precise gameplan and let them kick long o a space rather than short to an opponent

TBird - looks slightly disinterested and not the player so stoic for us in the bad times - how's the relationship with the coach?

Austin led a merry dance by Roughie. Has potential but a way to go.

Do we have any skills coaches at Carlton or are we waiting for a few more retirements so we can make a few more jobs for the boys appointments

Slow coach - Anyone in the box heard of Hodge? He kicks the ball quite well, try and stop him getting it, make him accountable, and don't take an hour to try and do something about it.

PROS
Judd - makes 5 goals difference to the side and should embarass some of his senior team mates
Murph and Gibbs - very good again
Bower battled well, good season
Ando tried hard, good size, lots of courage, poor disposal
Fev - unlucky

All in all a reasonable year. Still a long way from the best and Judd coming to the club has made a huge difference. Still a lot of young players who are not really improving, still need to get more outside expertise into the club and avoid the cliquey jobs for the boys syndrome. Need more experience with Ants coaching and development to help and guide Teague

Ratts has done quite well. Probably not better than Wallace or Knights. Absolutely no reason to extend his contract. He took us to expectations and not beyond. Needs to do much better next year and then we can talk an extension

Nothing surer than there will be guys who become stars left in the draft at #6. Will we pick the best and develop a superstar or sell the farm to get a star like Kerr with a questionable past (How good was that Ketamine Dan) and a battered body. We had three chances to draft Kerr but went for spuds instead. Our attitude here will tell a lot about whether we are going forward to a flag or backwards to the 90s - maybe the Dockers will take #6 for Carr - worked well in the O'Reilly trade??

Pros
- Bower very good in defence
- GIBBS....he is much better than Ablett, Bartel, Hodge etc were in their 2nd year of AFL. Super talent.
- Judd. Still the best player in the comp IMO.
- Anderson showing promise. Still is pretty raw and prone to make mistakes but he is improving.
- 7 players out there who are in their 1st or 2nd year of AFL footy i.e. Gibbs, Armfield, Anderson, Austin, Kruezer, Grigg and Hampson. These players will all get a LOT better.
- Jamison, Betts, Browne, Hadley and pick #6 in the draft should next season replace some of the "dead wood" out there last night.

Cons
- Badly need a tall forward option.
- Bentick and Fisher don't offer much IMO. Good VFL players only.
- Stevens very lacklustre performance.
- Needed more from Waite and Simpson. Waite doesn't have the smarts to be a permanent forward IMO.

Agree with most of what you have written gerry atric however not the following comment:
gerry atric wrote:

The improvement in the kids been my main positive to come from this year.
I'm genuinely excited about what is in store for us over the next few years and my only major concern is that we badly lack a tall forward option.
