An interesting stat I found out today, Jordan Russell has yet to bounce the ball this year. For someone who has pace on his side, you wonder why he doesn't bounce the ball.

How many bounces has Fevola had? Forwards don't generally run around in free space with the ball a great deal without taking a shot for goal or passing to a teammate.
When did Fev pass it to another team mate? Last time I checked he played for Carlton, not Geelong!

But apparently only second in JUDDs, behind Richmond

They've led in un-contested JUDD's for years. WE have the most CONTESTED JUDD's in the comp.

Interesting, Richmond apparently led the competition in uncontested Box Seats last year.

Carrots leads the comp in NRS refusals.

It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't 20 time penalties for every refusal.

Interesting to note that Murphy has been named in our best in 13 games on the AFL site. I couldn't find the match report for the Melbourne game but IIRC he was in the best, so that make's 14 out of 19 games in the best players.

Thanks for that baz

Bloody cold in Melbourne since the rain stopped, I have to say.

Anyway, I checked out the hit outs. Damning result...we're last by a long way. Fix that too and we'll go a long way.

No problem Bondi. It's pretty boring at work so I'm killing time going through some stats. I got night shift tomorrow so I'll add some more useful/ useless stats if it's quiet.

interesting note: this thread is officially insane.

further interesting note: it only has a couple of references to Wiggins. Most disappointing.

Interesting. Note also we are coming dead last in hit outs.

Hit Outs for: 455
Hit Outs against: 780
Difference: -325

This is a shocking stat. Needs to improve dramatically next season.
Of those 455, it would be interesting how many were to advantage.

According to those in Talking Recruitment, we should be gunning for a midfielder in Kerr or a forward in Brown.

Never mind a ruckman being more of a pressing need for the club.

Ehemmmm, that'd be me :) . Just let me qualify that by saying that we also need a ruckman, but you might notice that they don't come by easily.

We've almost got into the finals with those horrific stats, imagine how we'll go with a Johnno B or Kerr?

Our rucks will progress further and bridge the gap by probably 20-40% in the off season. We can speed it up by getting a top line young ruckman, but that'll come at a massive cost, if at all - and in 2 years we'll have a surplus of ruckman and a shortage of Key forwards.

I say we put a priority on Kerr followed by Brown, then ruckman if all else fails.

Be assured that one of these targets will be met.

Playing Hampson should be our priority this year.

Imagine what we would be like with a Cox or a Hale or a Campbell?

It's a unit of measurement.

Usually used when measuring negative comments or predicting negative outcomes.

For example, this weeks match against the Kangas has a value of 5 Melveys.

Should we win, we still have 10 - 12 Melveys of making the finals, though :-D
