He would have but for the strained hammy just when he was about to come into the side.

ARMFIELD! :-D

The way he throws his body in and uses his run is just fantastic. Doesn't look out of place at all in the big league.

Having said that, they're all pretty hard at it and have all been pretty good selections.

The point about Jamo's inexperience is also very good. It's amazing that, after less than 15 games, we already feel so comfortable with him in our defence.

Cause he shouldn't even in there and is taking there spot.

Awwwww, Melvey, how can you even think about dissing the Chief  . He deserves his spot as much, if not more than 15 others from Sunday. He proved his worth with the goal that pushed us over the line which we could then go on with.

Isn't it a wonderful problem to have for the team? :-D

I've been most impressed by Armfields game so far.
I like Pfeiffers utility and his hard at the contest work.
Honestly I haven't watched a lot of what Browne's done so I won't speculate.
I hope to see more games from Hadley as he gets over the injury.

Hadley will play 200
Browne and Armfield should play 350 each
Pfeiffer will get to 2047

No worries OW. I usually write like that after I've had a beer or two or ten! :-D And yes he was a great late pick.

He's gonna be a superstar, AA, premiership defender  .

His new 3 yr contract certainly supports those thoughts.

Great news keeps coming. That'll lock him away when GC17 starts up too.

What's the story behind his initial recruitment cazze? Or as much as you can tell anyway. Why was he missed in the draft?

Jamo did not play TAC CUP, did not really take his footy seriously until he was 19. Nominated for draft for 2006 but was never a chance, but after a top 2006 for North Ballarat was rookied for 2007.
I suppose Carlton (through Gavin Crossica who coached him as a raw boned rookie at North Ballarat before he came to Carlton) thought his athleticism and desire could improve considering he was untapped a bit considering he was a late starter?

He has heaps of development and improvement in him, is an impressive person and will be a long term defender. (don't want to say a 200 gamer....but could!)

They will all be very good. Hadley injury free with a full preseason will make a huge difeerence to us.

Armfield will be fantastic run with attacking player. Tough.

Brownes poise is what impresses me and has good skills.

Pfieffer shows potential but would like to see abit more of him at senior level.

All great pick ups. At the minute:

1. Browne
2. Armfield
3. Hadley
4. Pfieffer

Browne just looked so assured from the first time he got the pill. Will be a long term player.

Armfield adds pace and toughness, and a great tackler.

Hadley was just starting to add something in the clearances when he got injured. Big body for a mid. Quality pick up but needs to stay sound.

Pfieffs is a real goer, but lacks polish sometimes (maybe that's one reason the Crows let him go ?). May need a few injuries to other players before he gets a regular game ??

Armfield for mine. Hard to glean from only TV and radio, but he seems absolutely awesome.

Would be intrigued if the club still thinks of him as a rookie given his lack of playing time at the Crows. I remember reading that his work ethic was poor there, but I'm sure if the club was expecting someone "Carrots like" in terms of having languished (ie talented yet unsuccessful at a club)- then we've won... :)
