1 minute 30 left, they're 5 points down and out they go.

WTF?

It's not like traffic's a problem - what, they'd make it home to Elizabeth in four minutes rather than the normal 5?

SOFT LIKE THE CLUB THEY 'SUPPORT'

Agreed - I was yelling at them to stay.... "Two kicks and you're back on top you idiots - support your team"!!!!

I was in an empty public bar with my wife and I went out to the smoking area to tell a Carlton supporter that we were down by 11 so he'd better come back and watch closely - instead of looking at the big screen from where he was... (You couldn't see the top of the screen there - so he knew we'd kicked goals, but didn't know the score)....

We thanked the bar man for not shutting the public bar when there were only 4 of us in there and he could have been used in the other bar....

The lesson of brotherhood - we'd never met - but he yelled out "go the blue boys" as soon as he saw the shirt - and said we were going to win... so we were in it together no matter what - and we shared a joyous hi 5 afterwards....

Went out to the balcony at a BBQ at my brothers house at 3/4 time & was drowning my sorrows next to the blazing Chimenea with a nice glass of red. Thank god my 7yo kept watching & called me in with 15min to go telling me "daddy, we're coming back, we're only 11 points behind" - god bless him!!!!!!!

I turned off at 3qtr time. My girlfriend decided to have her parents over for dinner. I excused myself from the table telling them i was expecting an important work email and snuck off into the lounge to check the score's to my absolute surprise we bloody won

It made the night much more bearable but been hanging for them to depart to get the low down on the win

When we were 1 pt down with 4 mins to play or whatever... I just knew we'd win it.

First time in years I've known we'd win.

That feeling of kicking to the Heatley Stand end in the last, 3 goals down.

You just knew we'd win.

Well I felt it. And it was flowering ace.

I watched up until the 20min mark of the 3rd quarter.

Then my dog walked into the room with a big bit of his bone lodged between his teeth - right across his upper jaw - couldn't budge the bloody thing at all. Completely stuck. He can't close his mouth. Not good.

So I jump in the car and rush him to an emergency vet. Figured the game's as good as over, so I don't bother listening to the radio. Just focused on getting him sorted.

Anyway, as soon as the vet comes out to see us, Hunter gives this huge SLPAARGHHH noise and the bone hits the floor. He's good to go. 15 seconds later and it would've cost me $120 in vet fees. Good boy.

Get back in the car, more relaxed now, switch on the radio and hear those immortal words "amazing victory from Carlton" and nearly pass out.

I was down the footy club with the old man and one of the boys. Old man went home at 1/2 time because he had a lift and has fox at home. I went into the pokes to have a bit of a punt because i am filthy. Could still see the big screen from in there. We kick a goal, I come out, Port kick one back, the boys send me back. I had to sit in there for the whole last quarter. I could see and was cheering my ass off but wasn't allowed out.
I am personally claiming the victory on my sacrifice on losing $40 on the pyramids - hitting the button and not even watching what was coming up!

My brother switched back on the radio 10 mins into the last quarter, I actually heard the match until halfway thru the third, rocked up to an 18th b'day party (they had Foxtel YES!), and watched the entire last quarter unfold on tv... beautiful.

Anyone see the footage of Port fans leaving the ground when they were only a goal down with 2 minutes remaining? Now THAT'S weak! 8)

My mate, a Crows supporter, wanted to leave at 3 quarter time because he can't bear the feral Port supporters when they are winning. I told him to flower off, we were staying til the bitter end no matter what. Showed him

Seriously though, our supporters have nothing to be ashamed of. Even when we were down in the first 3 quarters i heard plenty of support for the boys. Much better than the Port scum who couldn't be heard AT ALL in the last quarter, and started leaving with 2 minutes to go. Pathetic.

See my post on the match day thread.
Fancy not staying up after 3:00 in the morning when we had 2 goals in a half, during an electrical storm trying to listen on dialup when the stream kept dropping out, listening to a biased team of callers when I had a warm latin wife in bed.
I'll learn from that.

I'm proud to say that the only Carlton supporter who left the local footy club with our local supporters groups was the one who had to get home to the family to do fireworks (still legal here in the ACT for the June long weekend!)

Of the ones who stayed, I'm even prouder to say that one of our supporters after the game stood aside from the rest of the crowd and shed a little tear (actually, he was pretty much bawling his eyes out really!) I loooove that sort of passion for our Club.

The committee members and a couple of others had just received our local supporter polo shirts (Camel and Gezman, - please note!) which have come up really nicely just quietly, and can you imagine the feeling driving home after the game wearing my Canberra Carlton Blues shirt watching fire crackers going off all over the place.

So glad I didn't wake up this morning and find it was all just a dream :)

Rich

We actually went to the Four Mile at Strathpine - was at the Warner the night before and none of the TVs was on sport..... Ever since they sold it and took it up market, it's hard to fathom.... Though they still have the Carlton jumper on the wall....

I actually only started following the game at 3/4 time!

Being in NZ I rely on TC and AFL.com.au. It was so funny hearing Jars go off in the last quarter on SEN! He is a classic.....

I had dinner organised with my brother, my brother inlaw and respective wifes for 7:30 in sthbank.

Watched the first half and left thinking we don't have a chance, at least let it be respectable....

Started listening to it on the radio on the way up and was thinking at least it will be respectable.

Get to the carpark and we are 1 point down, with 5 minutes to play.

We enter the carpark and all we get is static.......................

Looking forward to watching it sometime today.....

I had to content myself with the 1/4 by 1/4 highlights on the AFL website. (Their definition of "Highlights" is "goals" apparently).

Hoping to find a completely legal copy of the game which hasn't been uploaded to the web so I can see the whole thing.

Wojee, we are all waiting patiently for our on line friends to seed the game. This one will be special!
