I think biggest con we have had over last 6 weeks is not having a settled back 6 six every week we have mostly been forced to change the backline up.

Best back 6 Jamison, Thornton, Waite, Walker, Bower and Scotland
Tonight 3 where missing one has come back from 4 weeks on the sidelines one injured in the 3rd apart from the players we have been missing the backline also hasnt been settled

When we played Collingwood which was a great win we had nearly a settled 6 players
Thornton, Jamison, Bower, Waite, Scotland and Banister.

That is much closer to what the Blues need to have to have a settled back 6 prob with Walker the only player missing in that 6

We will struggle to meet the better teams while we dont have our key defenders on the park.

Pro

Armfields effort. Judd, Hampson (in parts), Cloke (first half), Gibbs ok - some great disposals

Cons

Setanta's decision making in defence (when to go and when not to - ballsed up a few times)

Carrazzo kicking out from full back (WTF?)

3rd quarter effort

Umpiring was a disgrace. Didn't affect the result, but was a disgrace. Even the Carlton crowd gave up after a while. Ablett will win the Brownlow by a street because he just never gets penalised for anything

Pros:
- Armfield, great debut and provides run and has good closing speed, reads the ball very well, too.
- Gibbs is making progress and maturing as a footballer and slowly showing why he went No.1

Cons:
- Third quarter and first half (don't be fooled by the scoreline, if they were accurate in the first half, it would've been a massacre)
- Confirmed tonight we have a long way to go in a lot of areas given we were up against the best side
- Dare I say it, but a couple of players may have played their last game for the club tonight.
- Bower's injury.

Time for Kreuzer to have a run with the Bullants I'm afraid. He's far too good a player to lope around the field having no influence on the game. He has become a bit of a spectator in recent weeks. Maybe he's a bit tired.

He should go back to the Bullies and just demand the footy at all times, get some touch and hit the ground running again in a couple of weeks.

The same could be said of Hampson who equally ran around a lot but without any thought as to actually getting the ball. Unrewarded running is great and a necessary thing for all players to do but he has taken it to new levels. But I would be inclined to keep Hammer in for the next 2 games at least to see if adapts better.

It didn't help us to have our two tallest players contribute very little. Not that I'm blaming them for the loss by any means. We got beaten because we weren't physically up to the challenge of Geelong but it was just something that stood out to me.

A pro in my mind was Russell, looked quite assured with the ball and did a lot of good things. I can't help but watch his games closely these days with all the crap he's been copping. I'm pretty certain that there would be very little to criticize out of this week but of course I'm sure someone will.

P - best young midfield in the comp - bit young at the moment

C - 19 y/o rucks - pedophilia when up against the likes of Ottens

The fact he is a gun player might help a bit too. :P

Let's just say there are a couple players that have been on the list for 4 or greater years - there ain't that many to choose from.....

Pros

Judd, Armfield, Gibbs & I thought Fev was in the mood tonight but we just couldnt get him the ball often enough

Cons

Bentick, Russell, Wiggins ... all try hard but just seem to make the same errors over and over and over again.
Fisher is having a shocking season. People have a go at Fev for his defensive pressure but can this bloke actually lay a tackle????? Might need a spell in the reserves.

Speaking of defensive pressure... Stevens and Scotland need to start leading by the alleged leaders they are meant to be, or else they can bugger the hell off.

Con: For those who say Ryan Houlihan is missed. Tonight's piss weak performance was exactly why he should never play for this club again. I maybe harsh considering he wasn't out on the field but i couldn't care less.

We got smashed once again.

An absolute weak, timid performance by all. How precious have we become

Pro: Gibbsy poise and smarts

You're right. About the being harsh bit.

That has to be a first. Slating a bloke because he WASN'T out there to be slated for what you believed he WOULD HAVE done wrong! :P

Interesting perspective..... amusing nonetheless

Pros ......Judd tried hard even though not fit
Cloke had a go
Armfield attacked the footy well.
Fev was good

Cons.......Murphys disposal and awareness
Lack some real speedsters
Not physical enough to cope with Geelongs big bodied players.
Same players making the same mistakes, they need moving on..
We are a fair way off being able to challenge the heavyweight teams.....

Yeah well can't really argue. And what a horror weekend it is when the Filth win by a Ton, and we get flogged by what shoulda been the same margin.

BOG - Dennis Armpit - sorry it just stuck and i cant shake it off.
WOG - Murphy

Pros:

Dennis Armpit, Few times he took geelong on like Mr Kade and nearly came up trumps, slight blemish when the two goals kicked on him by his man for running off them, but was a spark we needed and he is super quick as well.. weehee

then last term, he does his little run through the centre hand balls to himself re gathers.. GOLD

2nd quater tempo footy, Oh man I loved seeing anger in geelong supporters faces - great momentum changer - 3rd quater didnt make much difference to geelong huh ? they didnt seem to miss after that.

ahhhhhhhhhh Im loving the built up to next weeks game already

Browne - not much to say he tried his best in defence with turn over king carrazzo in his pocket.

Satanta - I thought he played better then some other players tonight, he tried all night. Same as Cloke, JR, simmo, gibbs, judd - but these are players we know and expect to step up

Cons:

Injuries, and No one relieving bower from the mark to allow that geelong scumbag to run around him and goal. come on blues, play for each other. We all saw that.

Murph - Yeah not the best game he played. nor with scotland, they werent damaging enough, stevo was barely around, and fev could only do so much.

3rd quater: WHY WASNT ANYONE tagging ablett ? i swear i counted at least 20 possies in that quater alone and we were at least 1-2m away from him all the time he destroyed us alone, even the ball smacking him in the head did nothing and they got the ball back. argh.

Sitting up in Q 69 around geelong supporters who talked nothing more then how good they are.

I had to remind them they were shit 2-4 years ago and in the 60 years that it took to win a preimership Id kindly advised them Ive actually lost count how many times we won it since then.

From the get go we should have smashed into them making them earn and hurt for every possession they get. Show some bloody physicality towards the ball and there opponent and have them thinking twice about going in for the contest.

Good forbid we ever play an exhibition netball match against The Melbourne Vixens

The Cats woeful kicking in front of goal certainly did us a favor
