Would all you get off fevs back and stop bagging him. All this stuff about his contract is a media beat up. Its funny how all you bag him and wanna get rid of him without hearing actual quotes from the people involved and knowing what is exactly happening. Fev is a loyal bloke, one of the most at the club, he loves the club, he wants to stay and the club want him to stay. We get all this reports from the media and all of you believe them and then attack fev, not everythin in media is true, none of the reports have quotes from fev or any of the people involved. Maybe for once you actually support fev and get off his back because last time i checked he played for carlton and he is one of the few who has givin you somethin cheer about of the last few years, and we are all carlton supporters so we should support him instead of baggin him and wanting to get rid of him. Fev will re-sign, and be a blue for life.

Ok. But first I want to see you do a "Britney Spears" type YouTube support rant!

Even the most ardent of Fev's fans will agree that he is a goose. But he's also a phenomenal footballer, a matchwinner and he loves the Blues. I personally couldn't care less about minor off-field "misdemeanours". They are overhyped to the extreme by the insatiable and parasitic press corps whose livelihoods are dependant on minor indiscretions like these to fill their bank accounts and column inches.

I'm only interested in what he does on the field for the CFC, on which he is nearly unsurpassed in terms of footballing brilliance and he also regularly flys the flag for the other players.

The hysteria created by Wilson's baseless article today only serves to fuel a fire that isn't really there, and it gets the hordes of Fevola haters something to yap about whilst they plainly ignore the match winning efforts he puts in on a regular basis.

where is he negotiating it via the media. It's the media that's reporting that (1) offer 2.8 mil for 3 years; (2) wants 4 yr deal; (3) happy to take 3 yr deal...H-Sun; (4) The Age saying he's holding out. He's not saying it. Which one's right? We don't know. We let it go until it's done. Thne we all know.

You think its bad now, just wait until after Monday when Fev gets pantsed by Scarlett as per usual and the media will be running stories about how he has lost interest due to contract negotiations.

I hope we have fev for a long time (well at least the next three years), why his contract negotiations are so newsworthy now is beyond me. I mean someone is planting these stories in the press, but negotiations by media are never going to be pretty and we will never get the full story.

If you criticise Fev, you're criticizing Richo as well.. He may have a selfish side, on the footy field when things go wrong but he loves the carlton footy club and has his heart in the right place..

He's been at Carlton all through the bad times, stuck with us, put up with insipid delivery in the past.. This year has trained harder than ever and hasnt put a foot wrong (besides the one incident)..

Fev is an elite forward in the competition! He's stakes have risen again this year, and besides Judd, easily our 2nd best player and AA player.. You have an elite player, then you treat the situation accordingly. That's footy.

Job security is a big thing for people in any walk of life.. The threat of contract termination is obviously something Fev would be concerned about. The most trivial of garbage is scrutinised these days, if i was a footballer and proceed talks with consideration and caution myself..

Mate, this is a open forum - people can discuss whatever they wish - as long as it complies with the forum's rules.

Mods - I reckon this thread should be merged with the 'Fev knocks back 3 year deal' thread - I reckon it'd slot in nicely. :-D
The very title that states Fev rejects 3 year deal is a classic of this; as far as I know there hasn't been a deal made.

I created that thread, and not to cause the ruckus that is currently going on in there (actually, I thought it'd die like most of my threads do - with 3 posts and 10 views  :P )...

In what I wrote originally, and in the title thread - I made mention that I was only going off a clip from Lateline, and even mentioned that I didn't catch every part of the bulletin. I didn't preach it as gospel, and I made no comment on what I thought - just reported a news article.

The moment a fly lands on a Carlton player, people post a topic about it - that was all I was doing.

Either way I take it with a pinch of salt, like every media story. The only things I really take seriously are comments from the actual players and their managers - for example Fev's little spiel on TFS the other week.

Sparky, I am not having a dig at you and appologize if I offended you.
I appreciate everyone reporting what they heard and read to this site so quickly. That is what makes this site such a valuable place for info on the Blues.

My point was that we take snippets from the media and posters on here treat it as quotes from Fev or Carlton when it is just the opinion of the journo.

Fev isn't a goose; he's a big kid who is a lot of fun in what is becoming a monocultural boring society.

I bet most of our idols of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's also crossed the line Fev has, but it was acceptable and media srutiny wasn't what it is today. I know plenty of stories. I've seen plenty. That's life.

Furthermore, society is becoming inundated with expectations complying with political correctness, new age guys and certain standards fit for a good Corporate citizen in a Corporate dominated world.

Grow your hair, throw out the suit, wear something groovy and enjoy life and those around you.

@#$%&! the media, @#$%&! political correctness, @#$%&! creating a boring society.

No wonder the generation Y exists with its so called inward focussed attitude. They too prefer to be the goose. The alternative is better than the 'norm' our new age society presents.

So what's 'normal'?

The hippy revolution was a rebellious movement against monoculture, and look at the great changes it gave us to enjoy and give us options and choice.

Fev doesn't have to be anything but himself. Let him have the option. He's lucky he does not have to be a 'boring' typecasted robot.

Go get em Fev, stick it right up 'em. Same with you Sammy Newman; @#$%&! 'em all, be yourself, and if being yourself means being honest with yourself and about the things you like to do (as long as you don't steal, slander, rape or kill and you pay your taxes...and be good to your mum), then enjoy life. Seize the day

It's his life. Why should he give a shit about those who want him to be in a straight jacket? Mr Goody Two shoes? Nah, that's not Fev. Fev adds color and love and compassion to those he's around. Sure he gets in a bit of trouble, but that's what being a boy means.

Don't kill the child in you Fev and live the life boring farts expect you to live. Life's too short and old age is too long. I'll still buy 10 CFC memberships no matter what you do...as long as you kick goals, play a team game and help us win the 17th Flag.

Who cares what you look like and what you do if you can help us win a flag? Once we've got the next flag...all is forgotten...even from those who call you a goose. Why? Because the Holy Grail is all we're after.

Win the Flag and memberships and sponsors will flock!

The world is a colorful experience. It is made up of all types of personalities, fun, boring and indifferent, all sorts of races, all sorts of cultures. Thank god for that.

Let life live.
Do what you want to do.
Be who you want to be.

Get us a @#$%&! flag!!!!!! That's what its all about!!!!!

....and if Neil Balme gets in your way after we win a flag can you forget about political correctness you're expected to conform to, and punch him in the mouth from me, Southby and every Carlton supporter. Just tell the media you were drinking and celebrating and he fell on your fist. I wont hate you for it.

Go and kick another goal, forget about what the minority Carlton supporters think of how you should act; they're just frustrated haters because of Black Friday and its consequence, they're not lovers....baby....well not until we win the @#$%&! next flag!!!!!

Talking Carlton is always good reading. And Bondi,ya always make sense. But you have exceaded even your own high standards.Thats bloody fantastic mate and i wholeheartedly agree. We have had more than our share of scalywags over the years and Fev is actually a choir boy compared to some of them. Its just the way it is at Carlten. And its just the way i like it.

Good stuff Bondi !

+1 - great post - weighs up Fev's talents against the need to secure his future, without getting emotional... something that seems difficult for most in regards to this topic...

I haven't ever seen one person in this forum say they hope Fev fails.

My issue with Fev has always been the same - his stupidity bringing embarrassment on the club. The club has made so many strides since Feb last year and is finally a professional outfit in the league once more. I hope Fev gets with that program and realises that what was tolerated before isn't acceptable now - I really do. He can win games for us, and he is one of the truly great talents in the league - but he isn't bigger than the club - especially this club with the legacy of greatness it enjoys.

I love the CLUB.
