Calm down, stop getting so hysterical people. The deal was always going to involve AFL & Melbourne City Council financial contributions, so long as Carlton could convince another club to get involved. Well North (the most likely) have now decided to to train out of a 3rd world training facility. Thats their problem. Temporarily our problem as well, but I'm confident everything will work out - just take a bit longer than originally anticipated. Some peoples lives aren't fulfilled unless they've got a drama to moan about.

I read today that it was announced at the presidents lunch yesterday that we were redeveloping OO ON OUR OWN!!!

Sorry, what did I miss.

Weren't we promised State Governement and AFL support for the redevelopment if we moved to the Dome?

What the @#$%&! is going on?

Anybody know?

Great, that new coat of paint we can afford will come in very handy.

so reading this thread, the issue on our funding from AFL and State Government was that it was contingent upon getting another club to join us?

Unfortunately Collo has taken us for a ride and not just with the redevelopment of OO but with our new home ground.
Did any experience what I experienced Friday night?

Seriously is that how Carlton are going to treat their members from now on? Make sure you join up they scream preseason. but when it comes to your home ground makes sure you can pay additional for a seat or stand. Oh and by the way whether you can swipe your ticket or not :? ....WHO CARES go and line up and get a Telstra ticket to enter (missing the start of the game while you do that)...forget the f****ng bar code on your membership that can't get you in for this game. :x

Seriously Collo, CFC and the AFL have lost it and are about to lose are lot more.

Scarcasm....now why does that not surprise me.
You deny that many Carlton supporters where dealt badly Synbad or are you going to use Scarcasm as a defence again?

By the way, I have been a Carlton member for 25 years.

They made it a fully ticketed game because they knew they would get a big crowd- almost 46,000 (which is only about 6000 below capacity). Did you not hear about that?

Fevola you might enjoy having to stand outside the ground with a membership in hand but not being able to access the ground because you haven't received a TD ticket but I don't. And I couldn't have mentioned this before, because this is the first time it has happened to me. Now maybe you should be quite and go to bed.

I didn't answer it because I went elsewhere. , anyway, I didn't know that because I was under the impression that Carlton members where not required to get a ticket.

Anyway my argument is why where we made to get a ticket when there where plenty of seats left and it was not sold out? Lucablue how is my argument boring you?

Don't you people understand that a lot of members cannot afford to pay extra for a seat and treating them like this will only turn people away from our sport and more importantly our club. I hate to think what will happen when our club becomes successful again and our supporters are left high & dry or does that not worry many of you?

Seriously I seem to be flogging a dead horse because no-one seems to care or are to self absorbed to care.

Because u keep flogging a dead horse. What good is it doing, bemaoning the decision to move from OO to TD & MCG?
Has not the membership & attendance figures convinced you that u were in the wrong.
And, yes not everyone can afford the extra $$ for a reserve seat, but not everyone can afford to go to the movies every week, or buy fillet steak every week. That's life - fact is almost 50,000 people could afford to & that's the system. If the AFL deem that a game is likely to sell out, they attempt to get everyone to plan ahead & get their seat in advance. Not only for the extra $$$ it generates, BUT, to avoid the ridiculous delays caused when 50,000 people all try to get into the ground 20 minutes before the bounce. I bet you'd be the first to complain as well, if you had to line up for an hour before the game 'cos the AFL doesn't plan for sell-out games appropriately.

Live for the present & the future, & stop wasting your futile energies on the past!!!
