Well said Elwood Blues

You wouldnt get a more consistent player than Andrew Carrazzo, rarely plays a bad game and for a bloke who we got for nothing who has a B& F I think we should be very happy with his efforts...

That's a great post Melvey.

Nothing is irrepairable. Look at Mitchell, Sewell (who could forget), even Spalding....it can be fixed.

Did you ever have a hopeless teacher at school?
Did you have an inspiring teacher at school?

If so, compare the result. Now refer to Melvey's post.

We are very lucky to have player of Carrazzo's ilk to work with; better he's in our jumper.

Ask Judd, Stevens, Murphs and Gibbs what they think of Carrazzo's work ethis and value to the midfield. I've heard Carrazzo is rated...not for his sublime disposal though...but he gives his team mates the support they need when they're in trouble.

He's a great one to be in the trnches with.

Sam Mitchell comparison is a good one...till we get to the quality of their disposal..Mitchell, either side, either foot, either hand is bloody elite. I don't expect Carrazzo to be elite in that way; in my view he is the elite of the rookies list.

Carrazzo is very good in tight and around the pack and if you pay close attention to his ball gathering ability, you will realize that this guy is a one-grabber and does not fumble. He is very highly rated at the moment, despite his poor disposals.

As bondiblue rightly said, nothing is irrepairable. Get his disposals right and I think he can be just as good as Mitchell. BUT, still plenty of work to do. at least the potential is there.

No one wanted Mitchell, too slow, cant kick over a jam jar, too fat , he was just a VFL hack at the Box Hill Hawks but he has turned himself into a elite player who will give the brownlow a shake ....no reason at all why Carrazzo or a player like Bentick cant improve if they put the work in.
One reason why Mitchell is elite and Greg Williams was probably the best mid I have seen is the quickness of the mind......if you are thinking quicker than your opponents then the skills seem to improve quicker as well.....

Interestingly no one wanted bentick or carrazzo either both off the rookie list - I agree both have some more upside and more work on their deficiencies will make them even better - good to see them having an opportunity to play in some winning sides -both are footballers like mitchell rather than athletes
Also interesting to see Mitchell swing onto his left side often to confuse tagger and is very proficient on his non dominant side -has obviously done copious amounts of work on this aspect of his game.

I liked some of Carrazzo's kicking off his left on Friday night too.

I reckon Carrazzo's almost a better kick on his left than his right. Uses one hand to guide the ball down (as most players do), unlike when kicking on his right.
