If its a 1 weeker he could be right for Round 1, and certainly will be ready for Round 2. Overall it could be a lot worse.

Hammer had strapping on his knee before the game and he didn't look right to me in the 1st half, and (I think) he didn't play at all in the 2nd half. If he carried the injury into the game, and the strapping suggests he did, I'm surprised he was played (ie. risked) at all. Especially given that they could have used the opportunity to have a look at Jacobs.

It's a long season for young ruckman, so I thought they would have rested Hammer yesterday if he had a niggling problem. I guess it's possible that the injury was suffered early in the game and had nothing to do with the reason his knee was strapped...

Anyone know any more details about the injury?

Was Walker ready to play? I hope we're not rushing our players back from injury!

All true.

The injury to Walks shoulder appears to be more cartilage damage than ligaments so No BO he wasn't bought back to early. Just an accident in play.

Hammo had some lose stuff floating and it was taken out with a minimum of fuss this morning. Should be right by Rd2. No major internal or structural issues.

Thanks Mr Cazz, appreciate the update!

What difference do you think, in terms of time on the sidelines, does a cartilage as opposed to a ligament injury mean for Tex?

Shame we won't have Hammer for the tigers. I'm not too keen on taking on their rucks with Ackland *wretches*

Unless of course Kreuzer plays like he did yesterday.

No idea until further tests are done. That was the early prognosis.

mind you - dont go googling about shoulder injuries - some cartiledge injuries can be worse than ligament injuries

i just know that about the 5th time i did mine i was shattered but it was only minor cartiledge damage as opposed to major liament damage and i was good in about a month

What would you say about him being able to put his hands at the back of his head?

Not the best news. I hope Walker is only 4 weeks out tops, but shoulders and knees can be fickle things. if only we were built like Lego men.

So with Walks and Hampson out, Kruze is a guaranteed inclusion (if he wasn't before). Surely Ackland isn't going to play?

And you'd think perhaps Grigg will start on the ground now, and Jackson or Armfield will come onto the bench.

All the best for Hammer and Walker, particularly Walker - we need him out there this year, he's maturing and need to start presenting himself as a role model for the kids...

I'm over threads being hijacked. This thread is about the injury to Walks. If you want to talk about other aspect of Walks game then please take it elsewhere.
