Couple of early picks and we could have got McLean as well - he's got the head for putting over the ball.

Cheers Jarusa, i had a look on Footygeek but couldn't find it. In your draft section you've gotta add some of the easier stats, not just the extremley hard ones that noone would ever know

When you look at that in development terms at AFL level you'd say Cooney is right at the top, closley followed by Mclean and Bradley. Raph Clarke is consistent and then it would be Walker, then Sylvia and Ray and then the other blokes.

But seriously you can basically say whos gonna be a superstar and who's not going to be a superstar.

Superstars- Cooney, Mclean, Walker, Sylvia, Tenace (borderlining on superstar)

superstars (without the capital S)- Ray

Stars- Bradley, Clarke (borderlining on good)

Other blokes- The other blokes

You can't judge players liek Walker and Sylvia yet, it's just that others have came on quicker.

The Superstars all have that something special, Ray has it too but i just don't know cause of his size. Bradley and Clarke have just came on extremley well but there not game breakers. Clarke is destined as a good half back flanker and Bradleys gonna be like Fletcher.

I'd rate Walker and Cooney above the rest in terms of superstardom aswell. Walker just hasn't done it yet.

It's like Demons fans with Sylvia they'd be thinking what is it with this guy. He's just taking longer to come on then the Bradleys of the draft, but once he does come on then look out.

I have been impressed by Kepler Bradley..he is a bit better than I thought he was and looks like a young Dustin Fletcher..bit gangly, unco looking but the senior games I have seen him play he looks fairly composed and when he fills out a bit he will be a handy Key position player....his work ethic is good and his skill level not to shabby for a young bigger player....

Brock Mclean has probably been as good as any of them and been better than the more highly rated Sylvia who while showing glimpses doesnt seem to have the engine to be a midfielder and appears to be more of a half forward goalkicker...
I'm hoping Jessie Smith can perform in a similar manner to Mclean if and when he gets promoted.....

My guess is that Smith will be at the club next year. He is exactly what we need but he might take a couple of years. Same with Bentick.
that kind of midfield is important to us..

As for Walker if he was at a team that was more settled he would have showed more by now.
I have no doubts he will be a superstar!!!

I said this somewhere else but I'll rerpeat myself here.

How many times did walker have to chase someone elses man up and down that @#$%&! wing on saturday?

How can he play to his potential when he is chasing someone else's arse because other blokes can't/won't?

Walker did some fine things onm saturday but mostly he chased, harassed, covered. hard to play a game doing that.

he is doing the role that poor old waitey did in his first year. remember that roile. Half forward flank/wing andf run up and dowen all day cos you have leg speed and others don't.

I reallty wish denis would poull him aside and say 'son i'm asking you to run with this bloke in the middle. Take him on, one on oine. Forget covering amnyone's arse, beat this bloke, show the fans. give 'em a g;limpse of what we need.'

But he won;t. he'll make Andrew run back and forth all friggin year cos in the end it will make him a greta player - look at the ground young Waite covered on saturday. He was in our best two I reckon. Him and T-Bird.
Next year it will be him, T-Bird and Walker and poor old Russell will be doing the chasing I reckon.

and so on.....

He does to need to learn to get the hardball as one play on Saturday was a repeat of one against the Hawks. In the back 50 he had run straight to gather a bouncing ball with an opposition forward charging out. He could have easily reached it and spun out of trouble, but again he took his eye off the ball and was worried about the opposition player coming straight out at full steam. He'll be a gun when his body is fully developed but twice in two weeks he hasn't put his body on line when Lappin, Teague and even Slimmo have!

Synbad, you have raised a good point regarding Bentick.

When will Bentick makes the senior list again>?

Surely he showed enough at the end of last year???

What about McGrath... how far off is he in making the seniors?

If I want to be able to criticise the rest of the side's disposal by foot (which I do), it's not really fair to exclude Walker cause his is average too. Other than that, I have no complaints with the kid. He's doing everything else right and I just wish Pagan would give him a more attacking role.

usually if you get dropped by Denis you cop a few games.
Bentick should play in my opinion this week.
Id make a statement to one or two of those who didnt chase back.

Andrew Walker was chosen at number 2 in the draft.

Walker's still picking up the tempo at AFL level. Some of the others in the team have had time to do that but they still can't handle the pressure.

I think Denis should play Walker on a half-back flank, so he can learn to read the game better.

Wing.....like tall wingers who can be targets at kick ins......out there its one on one and he will be bigger than a lot of the other players but just as quick.....he isnt a bash crash player.

If Walker can finish in our top 12 B & F we are miles ahead of schedule.

Bentick should be played this week.

Reward the kid for consistency in the VFL and punish the players in the seniors who aren't pulling their weight for the team.
