The Carlton v St Kilda game from early 90s where Sicks kicked 10 and Winmar kicked 8. Last quarter went for almost 40min and lead changed about 5 times during time on period.

Another Carlton St Kilda game from about 94/95 the one where Plugger almost took off Hogg's head in the Forward pocket on the boundry in front of Social club. A fantastic team effort that day and a great game.

Carlton vs Hawks (round 3 I think) in 94 the week after sticks kicked it on the full vs Essendon*. Had a similar shot but further out with less than a minute remaining and slotted it from almost 50 to win the game.

Carlton vs Essendon* night game at the G in 2003? A very undermanned blues missing 5 of their best players managed to humble the bombers and steal an unprobable victory.

Carlton vs Lions 07 in Brisbane...............the week that denis' future was sealed...............Thank god!!!!

This was a huge milestone game for David Parkin, not sure what milestone but it had to do with coaching the Blues. Was it not also famous for Parko declaring the Blues a 'B grade' outfit after the loss, or did that come the week after when we were smashed by the Lions in the first final? Either way, those stinging words went a long way towards us nearly going all the way.

There was another close game against St Kilda at PP when Sticks kicked a bag and Rod Owen kicked a bag for them.It was great to see 2 forwards on fire like that.Also the North game at PP where we came back from a mile down. Can`t remember the years though.

* Round 6, 1992 v St Kilda - Dorra quells Plugger and Rhino kicks 4
* Round 8, 1992 v Collingwood - Carlton stops Collingwood's centenary celebrations
* Round 3, 1993 v Hawthorn - Big comeback, Kernahan kicks the winner
* Round 14, 1993 v WCE - 1 point win

Last time I recall playing Richmond in r22 was 1997 when we missed the finals by a solitary point to those bastards.

The match at PP (2000?) against the Swans where we kept them scoreless for the first quarter, and they only kicked a point to half time is a match which speaks volumes about how well the team worked together in that season.

I remember in 1997 we played the Eagles in Perth (a night match) with Silvagni at Full Forward and he kicked 6 goals for a tight win (Round 13 1997).

Also in Round 16 1998 we beat the high flying Crows at Football Park in a thriller and Parkin was so happy he bashed the coaches window (without breaking it but it still looked cool).

Also probably too late but I remember the 1992 game at Waverly against the Saints where they outplayed us for the 1st half then we kicked 12 goals in the 3rd quarter (go Doratich!) and beat them by over 5 goals.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming if you can. We've put together a part 2 up to Round 14, 1995, that great win against the Tigers and their impressive bandwagon (84,000 at the 'G) and will look to finish 1995 shortly.

If there are any more suggestions in the late 1990's beyond Kouta's game in 1996 they would be appreciated (will go through the thread again and try to find the suggestions).

I think thehalford said it. The game in adelaide in 98. I think it was a friday night clash and it was mostly a B grade team who forked out a gutsy win.

16 flags is correct, I was there that night. We played so flat all night. From memory we were down by about 6 goals at one stage in the 3rd quarter before Braddles cut loose in the last quarter kicking a couple on the run. We got close but ran out of time. They were the days where I used to get frustrated that we waited til the end of the game to come back, lately we haven't been able to!!

Yeah Deano, I remember saying to the smart-arse tiger supporters on the way out "see you in the finals...... oh...... that's right you're not in the finals" and having a laugh then one responded "mate this was our final".

Poor old tigers, they really are a sorry lot sometimes.

one of my workmates laughed sarcastically when I handed him my footy tips for the 1995 game against the hawks.
I told him that Carlton would show the comp who was the best and flog the hawks by over 100 points (and I meant it).
Wish I got him to back his mouthing off with a fair slice of his larger salary!

I was at the "McKenna" game. That was a classic, fair hit.
I'll never forget Ricey one out at FF, racing for the ball. The ball clean bowled his opponent and presented Ricey with an open goal!

Kouta's game - wasn't that a 1 pointer as well?

Round 13 - another win over the Eagles at Subiaco
We kicked 6 in the first but they caught up.
Only one goal each in the last quarter and we won by 7 points.

Round 16 when we pumped the scum by 13 goals

Round 21 when we kept the Swans goalless in the first half (mentioned earlier in this thread)

1998
I think the two wins in Adelaide were the highlights of a poor season.

Round 16 (already noted by da) they jumped us in the first we got back in front in the 2nd. Tight in the 3rd & 4th. A great game and a great win by 4 points.

Round 22 - A 9 goal margin over Port - our first win against them.

Further thoughts on 98

Our biggest win of the year was beating the Bulldogs by 80 points with Lance kicking 8 goals in Round 17. They were on top of the ladder and we were 14th.

Son of 16 was only 5 years old. We were on the road during much of the game and listening on the radio. I guess that it was during the second quarter when we kicked 11 goals that he kept asking me, if it really was another goal to Carlton. I remember telling him "this is what its like barracking for Carlton". He asked for a number 8 to put on his Carlton Jumper that day.

similar to that win aginst the bullies in 1998, i remember a game at PP late in the year in 1992 against the bullies. They were right up the pointy end of the ladder and we had only just been ok. they were expected to give us a bit of a hiding (which they had done earlier in the year).

we kicked into a heavy wind in the 1st 1/4 and led by a goal or two at 1/4 time. in the 2nd 1/4 with the wind we pantsed them. ended up winning by 80 odd points. matthew hogg got 4 weeks for breaking (i think) Brian Royal's nose. the best bit was (again i think) steph mcpherson trying to get stuck into a few players and peter dean just pointing up to the score board as ran past. macpherson shut up in a big hurry.

I reckon it was the game that really kick started us on the way back up. to being a force in the AFL again. Fraser Brown was great, Rohan Welsh was brilliant when it was there to be won early on, and the rhino had one of his trade mark bursts into F50 banging it home on the left. great memories

That game followed Bulldogs coach Terry Wheeler proclaiming that they would be 1992 premiers through the week.

We we rank underdogs and gave them a hiding. It was a cracking game. Rhino in particular carved them up with his blistering runs through the PP midfield.
