We need to win a couple of the pre-season games to build up confidence going into the season proper.

However the focus needs to be on testing and strengthening the game plan, and trying out the less experienced players under match conditions.

If that leads us to winning the cup, so be it, but I trust Ratts & Co won't let the boys "get ahead of themselves".

Tend to agree..you want to finalise some positions and experiment but you dont want to get belted.....you want to win every game but sometimes its not possible when you have an eye on the future and playing youth is a priority.

Despite the fact that both competitions are unfair in terms of their structure, why wouldn't you want to win both?
