Class is in some senses undefinable. It is a quality that emanates from a player when they play. Attributes of "class" players include:

- to move with grace and handle the ball
- the ability to make the ball do what they want
- the ability to do the miraculous
- the ability to make the right decision
- the ability to make the play happen around them, to dictate and influence the play rather than waiting for the game to be taken to them
- to be able to do the simple things well and make the difficult things appear easy.
